First off please don't flame the post because of the minimal performance a swap will bring. Or the usual why are you this questions. If you have constructive and positive comments please share.
The situation is as follows.
My Audi TT MK2 Quattro 8J has the following rear brake rotors:
Solid (non vented) 286X12 rotors.
I want to use the 288X25 rotors in order to replace the old brake caliper with a 4 pot caliper meant to work with the 288X25 rotors.
I'm under the impression that the OEM caliper has a lever arm for the emergency brake connected to it. I never use my emergency brake so I really don't mind loosing that function as I'll be gaining 3 more Pistons per brake caliper.
However what can be done with the cables and connectors? Is there an aftermarket product that allows me to keep the e brake which can be purchased separately from an already existing bbk?
Has anyone swapped out the solid rear rotors for the vented rear rotors? If so what were your challenges?
Thanks
