    Exclamation S6 v10 5,2 2006 - P-faults about manifold

    Hey everyone, my first topic.

    Long story short…

For some weeks ago, my car had an oil leak. It took long time to figure out where it comes from, but I had an idea that it was the little “8-ring-gasket” from the “oil housing”. - And it was!
The car starts, and no more oil leak.!! :-)

But, after a little test drive, the motor-engine-laps vent on.
It was easy too see/hear/feel that the motor wasn't going well. It was shaking and it didn't respond on the acceleration, as fast as it used to do.

I put on my OBDii Carista, i got for my Iphone.

It gave me a lot of faults:

P1923 Check DTC Memery of ECU Number 2
P2004 Intake Manifold flap, bank 1 Stuck Open
P2006 Intake Manifold flap, bank 1 Stuck Closed
P2007 Intake Manifold flap, bank 2 Stuck Closed
P1573 AUDI - Left Engine Mount Solenoid Valve Open Circuit
P0660 Intake Manifold Tuning Valve Control, Circuit (Bank 1)

    Soo… What is it.?
Of cause I have read all the fault-codes, and it is clearly something about that the manifold doesn’t open correctly for the air flow. But why? I have just disconnected everything and connected it again.

Everything was working perfect before the oil-housing-project.
So I don't understand was is wrong now?

    ---

I allready tried some thing that I will state here:

    - I don't use "JHM intake spaceres", so it isn't because of the ekstra space.

    - I have tried to ensure that all 4 connecters in the front of the manifold are connected tight!

    - I have tried to switch plug 1 and 2. (It dosn't make any changes. Weird, but gave identical faults. And the car was acting the same way.)
Actually I don't know now, what way of the plug 1 and 2 is the right one?
    Manifold 2.jpg

    - I have tried to clear the fault-codes, but it came back right away. (I have only tried with my Carista, not a real VCDS)

    - I have tried to unplug the battery and back again - no effect

    - I have charged the battery to full. (First time after the oil-housing-project, the battery was dead, and I jumpstarted the car. It gave a lot of flashing in the dashboard, and I couldn't get the key out. Maybe some kind of immobilizer?)

    - The upper 'arm' (no. 2 in the picture) is moving when i push the accelerator

    - I didn't "open" the manifold, so I don't know the conditions the "flaps" inside are?

    ---

    Some questions:

    - Is it right that the problem is om the passenger side only? (Motor 1 on the picture?)

    - Is it about the connections or can it also be about some hose for the vacuum?

    - Is it possible to test the motor/arms? When or how should they moves?

    - Can I test the plugs? Does it give the right signal?

I really hope that some of you have some ideas.

I really can't understand why it gives all this faults now, but not before?

It has to be some "rookie mistake" I have done?

    // Thanks Michael

I’m pretty sure the intake runners on these are notoriously problematic and go bad. Google it. Lots of threads on the topic.

    Michael,

    Bump on this thread.

Did you ever figure this out? I am the "proud" new owner of a 2010 S6 with the same code.

Congrats on the new to you car.

Hope you get it sorted. I am dealing with consistant miss fires on #10, so the manifold may be coming off again to play with the injectors.

I am very interested! Let me know how they work out. That is a whole lot cheaper than a new intake. This looks more complete than a set I saw on another forum.

    sswari,

Were you able to get these from Russia? I have been looking for a used (and working) intake, but I always seem to get beat by someone just a little faster to the purchase button.
