    Traction control button not working

I got my car back from service and the traction control button isn’t doing anything. In the virtual cockpit a few options are missing. Almost as if it was coded out, pretty puzzled by this. Anyone have any thoughts? Really bizarre

When I bought my car I had two drives in different RS3s. Both of them had the traction control button disabled. Assume this was done to protect the cars against damage from launches and spinning wheels etc.

So the dealer coded it out to prevent employees from messing about with it? Seems legit but doesn’t make much sense. The dealer had the car for months to address an assortment of powertrain issues. Seems weird to code out the button when they would need to test traction especially after they noted the rear-diff had failed/was failing. How do I get the car back to its normal code..? Traction control fully on in the winter is scary, car behaves very unpredictably.

Bring it back to the dealership. I wouldn't code anything yourself or mess around with anything at all on that car.

The dealer is 4+ hours away from my house. I’ve already gotten stuck in the snow so many times this morning because traction control keeps intervening

You will have to call the dealership and speak to the service manager. Let them know this is unacceptable, especially since you have had troubles already driving in the snow..
Most dealers will come pick up a car for service. Tell them you refuse to make a 4 hr trip for something they overlooked, and request that they pick your car up to make the situation right.

It might not work but it’s worth a shot 🤷*♂️

When mine was frozen it only would register 0.1 or maybe 0.2 as a maximum number. If you are not seeing higher numbers like 0.5 when driving at speed in the dry, the G meter is frozen. A frozen G meter means your car is only FWD.

I agree with @catalyt686 the dealer needs to work on it or you’re on your own. Like others have said have them get the car or try and fix at your house. One thought since they did a lot of work to your car it almost sounds like it’s in transport mode. If so it would explain tc button not working, and tc not being very effective along with missing options. This can be checked if you have VCDS.

G meter is working and the car is running in AWD.

I have an OBDeleven, does this go by any other names? I see a development mode. Called 4 dealers now, the one the car was just (4+ hrs away) at told me to bring it in lol. Called most of the other dealers ive been to and they didnt have any ideas to give over the phone and told me they wouldn’t be able to look at the car for at-least a week. Best yet, my airbag issue which has been "fixed" more times than I could count has started to act up again. Only have had the car for a day, dealer had it for 2 months and assured me every single module of the car was addressed and working better than new. Nothing like having no airbags and a traction control system that constantly intervenes, cutting power, leaving me stuck to be hit by cars etc in the first major snow-storm of the year. Grossly unsafe, pure and consistent negligence on Audi's behalf.
