Is Audi Care worth the price?

Picking up a CPO 2018 S5 Sportback this week. Just curious if Audi Care is worth the price or if owners on here do the maintenance themselves? I bought the service packages on my 2014 S5 coupe but wondering if it’s worth spending the high cost for an oil change that Audi Service centers charge? Also, if I do my own oil changes, is it possible to reset the service light or does that require a dealer’s magic?

If you do your own preventative maintenance probably not. If you're like me and have neither the time nor the desire to do it yourself, then it's absolutely worth it.

I think it also helps you sell the car.

I think it depends on the dealership. We have a horrid dealership in Indianapolis. So bad, that other dealerships out of the area have offered us some service help (free pick up and delivery of your car). Make sure the dealership is ok with you doing your own oil changes. Despite having date, mileage and receipts, the local dealership denied warranty work, unless they did the servicing....which was shot down by AoA once they got involved.

If you have the time, I'd skip it. But, if you have a good dealership and don't have the time, then it is worth it.

Agreed. My ‘17 TT isn’t a CPO and comes off warranty in March. I’ve bought Audi Care for the 40 and 50k services, probably the last ones I’ll take to Audi. I’ve had very good service with International Auto’s here in the MKE area. Very good relationship with the service advisor I’ve used for all 3 Audis that we have gotten serviced there (still have 2 of them).

I’m in the same boat as JohnEnglish, no time or desire to do my own....

If you take your car to a dealership for service yes. It costs less then if you were just to get the services done individually.

See if you can get Audi Care included for free when buying the car. My dealer wouldn't budge on price so I asked if they would throw in Audi Care for free and they did. '18 S5 here as well btw.

At my last service appointment the advisor told me that starting 2021 the first service which used to be free will no longer be, which is a good reason to go ahead and get Audi Care.

Is Audi Care worth the price?

If they’ve taken away the first no-cost service, it will only drive up the cost of Audi Care as you will need to pay for that first service now.
