2009 Audi A4 Premium Modded As Is

Hi everyone, I’m selling my B8 A4 as-is and moving up to a 2018 C7.5 S6. See below for info. Asking for $12,000 but the price is negotiable, I’m just looking for the best offer that takes into account ~30% of the price of modifications.
    *
2009 Premium Audi A4, Ibis White, FWD, CVT, 2.0 Turbo, located in SoCal. 88,000 miles on the dot currently (don’t drive much in the pandemic) purchased in June 2012.
    *
Car has had its 95k maintenance, as well as recent battery replacement. Car was serviced by Audi until the warranty expired, and then was serviced in SoCal by Supreme Power and Grigor at Bestiale Motors. Has had one prior owner, has a clean title, passes smog checks, and had an Avery Dennison Satin Black wrap on the entire exterior from 12/2012 – 12/2018. Including the wrap, car has about $15,000 in modifications to date. See below for the good:
    *

Had a Satin Black Avery Dennison Vinyl Wrap w/Gloss Black Accents for 6 years protecting paint: $3,000

Audi RS4 Style Black Mesh Grill: $239
    Honeycomb Fog Light Grilles: ~$50
    HID 3,000 K Fog Lights/Charcoal Tint: $50
    Rear Carbon Fiber Spoiler: ~$160
    Gloss Black Front Lip: ~$200
    LED License Plate Lights: $50
    *

Hankook Ventus V12 Street Performance Tires 19/35/255: $900
Red Brake Calipers & Slotted/Cross Drilled Rotors: $450
    EBC Red Stuff Pads
    *
    Interior:

Mufflers & Burnt Chrome Tips: ~$600
Audi R8 Spark Plugs and Coil Packs: $150
    GIAC Stage I Tune: $600
    GIAC Stage II Tune: ~$800
    K&N Intake: $375
    AWE Front Mounted Intercooler: ~$1,000

    The bad:

Water pump and timing chain aren’t broken, but recommend both get swapped and updated sooner rather than later.
Light fault code is tripped with the Europe spec headlights and no one has seemed to figure out how to get the high beams to work.
Spare tire trunk section clip is broken as well as the cover to the rear seat cigarette lighter.

Mods don't add much value to the car, and yours being a base 2009 non quattro non S Line, there's no way it's worth close to $12k. The only plus I see is the mileage, but even that doesn't justify the price. Glws

W/ CVT and needed engine maintenance car is worth 4500 max. If timing chain, water pump done worth 6500. Sell all mods separate recoup 25%
Car is worst model audi ever sold
Terrible engine, worst transmission, water pump failure, steering judder from too small lines, suspension issues, electrical issues, balancer failure around 115k, high pressure fuel line failures, fuel pump failures, engine mount failures, differential failures etc.
stay far away unless you have 10k for maintenance

b8s maybe not that bad but 9k for 09 FWD is way way too much. No point in B8 A4 with no quattro anyway

I was interested to see the response this thread got with that price tag, because it's tough to price a car sometimes. Some people say mods add no value, others say it does, at the end of the day it is worth what somebody is willing to pay.

FWIW, I listed by 09 Quattro with mods in my sig (and all maintenance from rear main, to timing components, plugs, R8 coils, new tires etc. - most done in the last year) for $10k or best and haven't gotten a bite. Realistically, if I had an offer of $8k I'd probably take it. Any less than that, and it's more valuable in my garage.

    Good luck with your sale.

Makes sense and thanks for that insight! I (obviously) had no idea how to price this car but I wanted to make sure I didn’t do the opposite and start off too low. I’m seeing the same FWD ‘09’s with 20k more miles than my own listed at $8k+ on KBB/Edmunds. Lowest I’ve seen out there for like-for-like are around $5.5k. I’m fine with $7k, just trying to move on.

The people asking 8k will take 5500 after it sits for 6 months with no interest. An 11 year car with notorious and well document major issues will never get more than 6500 and that’s with the major issues being dealt with. Mods only make that car more dangerous not less, that’s why selling separate is a better idea.

Sell it to carmax or to a used car dealership that doesn't know any better.
