Sorry to have to ask; Resetting the Service Due! reminder

I feel I shouldn't have to ask this. It should be easy to do but didn't work, so thought I'd ask.

A couple weeks ago I got the Service Due! reminder on the center cluster. The MMI screen also showed the countdown to 0 days. I just finished changing the oil, in the MMI went to the service spot, scrolled down and selected reset service interval. I figured that should do it, but it still shows in the cluster on start up/shut off. On my old 2015 A6, you couldn't reset it in the MMI, I had to use the Carista I had at the time to clear it. So I synced my OBDeleven, went to Apps, and spent 10 tokens to reset the oil change reminder. Side note, does it cost 10 tokens every time I need to reset it? Anyway, did that, shut the car off and on, and still getting Service Due!

Only thing I can think of is it wasn't an oil change reminder, but service for something else? Therefore resetting the oil change one in the OBDeleven app did nothing, ever though they gladly took my 10 credits. Was I suppose to select something else? I saw there was another option that looked like it might be right, but I only had 4 tokens left.

    Thanks!

You can reset the Change Oil reminder with the MMI on the car. If it's a Service Reminder for anything else, you need a program like VCDS to reset it.

Can't OBDeleven do it? That's part of the reason I got it.

Maybe it’s your inspection interval that needs to be reset and not the oil.

Mine does this as well, I’m assuming it’s due to the mileage and the computer telling me I need a “milestone service” based on the recommended mileage intervals. I’m at roughly 97k.
I just ignore it since I know I’m up to date.

It's a separate service reminder than the oil change reminder. The oil change reminder can be reset in the MMI.

I just live with it. I couldn't figure it out with my Schwaben scan tool that does just about everything else. You need VAG to reset it.

Sounds like I selected the wrong thing to spend my tokens on. Annoying.

Also, I just assumed the 10 credits used to reset the oil change service would permanently unlock that function. Didn't realize you have to use 10 credits every time to clear it. Kind of annoying, it's why I returned Carista and got OBDeleven, because I thought it was more upfront, but you could use it as needed. Maybe those features are unlocked with the Pro license for unlimited use, looks like I need to check on that.

    Thanks everyone.

With VCDS, not only can you reset the service reminder but, you can also change the mileage and date intervals. It can be set to something closer to your personal maintenance schedule or set to something absurdly high like 200K miles and 10 years, so you don't have to worry about it again.
