Alright, just received my custom vanity plate. When installing...the plastic for the top two screw hole tab ended up being destroyed. Any remedies to fix the issue?

Removing the bracket and turning it upside down is what I had in mind...but the bracket is attached by double sided tape and the two 20mm torx screw. I just don’t want to ruin the sensitive ara blue paint.

Or I could use the two bottom mounting holes...but I do like having a plate frame for my tag. Frame only has top two mounting holes.

Audi definitely over engineered this bracket.

It'll be a trip to the dealer for that. Mine broke instantly when installing my plates - it was weakened when the dealer over torqued it. They handled the removal and resticking under warranty.

With a little bit of heat and slow steady pressure it should come right off.
Took mine off my black A3 without a problem just letting the sun warm it up.
Then you can find a aftermarket one on eBay.

I just resorted in purchasing a rear plate bracket off of Amazon.

I will test fit this unit and see where it goes.

Here’s a link if anyone else has the same issue and is interested in replacing it.

I just stripped the shit out of one of the screw holders too. Ordered the same thing as you and hoping I can simply install it and go about.

I also ordered the weathertech plate holders and the screws that came in the car as well as the ones from weathertech were not long enough. Hoping this fixes that issue also since the stock ones are kind of sunk in.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s having issue or had an issue.

$50 for a plate holder bracket is still absurd. Better than over $100 from Audi.

Let me know how it goes. I’ll get mine installed next week.

Installed and looks good. Was even able to get the weathertech frame on there.
