    MMI SOFTWARE UPDATE 2012

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I currently own a 2012 Audi A4 Quattro with SW 0351, what i believe is MM1 2G High but not exactly sure i have a lot of confusion due to every piece of information i find out there on this topic does not exactly pertain to the 2012 model (buttons difference, cd slot location, amp location, software update settings buttons combo difference etc,) i am trying to install a wired CarPlay smart module(from Ebay) and it is only compatible with MMI 3G or higher. I have a pretty clear understanding on how to update the software but still need clarification on where to install the Cd, all of the videos i have seen the all have a CD changer inside the glovebox? Is that just the regular cd slot up front that newer models have? Also, how do i get to the software update settings? I have tried Car and Return simultaneously and Setup and Return(while in Car settings) but no luck. I have not gotten farther than that so i do not have any further questions at the moment but If anyone can clarify on this whole process even after the step im on, if your aware of any other confusing steps, it would be greatly appreciated!

Any US MY12 A4 is going to have MMI 3G navigation plus (aka High) or Concert. That's it. Either there's a big dial with a joystick hat below the shifter, or the volume knob is on the dash above the climate controls.

You have the Concert head unit; therefore, you do not have MMI. So anything you see about MMI is not relevant to you.

If there a specific issue you are attempting to resolve involving the Concert head unit? If so, you might inquire with the dealership if there is a software update beyond 0351 for that system.

Thanks for clearing that up man. The whole reason why i wanted to update my software is to install a decoder so i can have apple carplay/backup camera video, but i just found out, that decoder is only for MMI software and apparently mine is AMI so is there any way i can add apple carplay at all to audi concert system and/or video for original or aftermarket back up camera?

AMI is Audi Music Interface. It does not correlate with MMI (multimedia interface).

The R199 external audio input comes in two implementations, AMI port or AUX port (which is just a 3.5mm analog stereo jack in the center console). All US MY12 A4, except the most basic Premium without Convenience package, have the AMI port. I do not know if the most basic Premium without Convenience package has the AUX port or nothing at all.

Take MyDime's link. The correct version for you would be the model H.
