Radio removal key stuck - B8.5

I removed my MMI unit with the radio removal keys, but the left side key refuses to release and come out. Pushed the little retainers on both sides, and the right key will come out easily, while the left key is stuck. Seems like it's deeper in than the right side, so it may be caught on something other than the normal lock.

Any ideas? Started to take apart the whole thing, but the face plate having the key stuck in it seems to be preventing that.

You can reach into the mechanism with a small flat blade screwdriver to unlock the latch

Tried that. It's like it's passed the latch and caught on something else.

Will work on it some more when I take it back out to install my Android Auto/CarPlay box for real.

String is because this thing has sharp edges.

Figured it out. I had mixed keys. The one that got stuck was a different style.

Had to put a ton of pressure with a lever shoved into the pin to release it.
