    Black Emblem options...

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Other than the "cheap-o" Amazon/E-bay plastic emblems and the $200+ OEM emblems, is there another decent option to replace the stock chrome/silver front and back badges?

Anyone have experience with plasti-dip or spraying the badges while on the car? Looking for a way to improve the look.

    Thanks...

You can find the OEM rings for slightly cheaper. It comes with both front and rear.
    https://www.audipartsstore.com/oem-p...-zaw098010cdsp

Another option is winn autosports. They are much cheaper but I was not happy with the quality of the rear rings so I returned. Their front ring and badges are decent. They supply it directly from china so its basically ebay stuff

eBay can be okay for the Audi rings themselves however they have tend to been smaller for the S and RS badges.

Unless there are new sellers who size them right this time hopefully.

But they're not so expensive. I believe I paid for front and rear ~65€JPEG_20201125_013653_3883169741717629819.jpg

Maybe TAG Motorsport should have better customer support. I ordered an S4 badge in early September, I have yet to receive it and I cannot get them to answer the phone or return my voice mail. I would avoid dealing with this company, not impressed.

Oh boy, that’s not good to hear. I just ordered those as well and it stated 3-4 weeks at the bottom of the page. More like 3-4 months I guess....

TAG Motorsports makes high quality stuff and you can even do custom finishes. They are a top tier shop you should see the McLaren 720s and Ferrari 488 builds they do. Insane. I think your order might have been lost due to how busy they are instead of any malicious reason.

That being said their badges are very very expensive. The oem badges are cheap plastic themselves so I would say go grab them of eBay or somewhere else. Not worth dropping high $$$ on painted plastic emblems. If you want something really custom well they are your only option unless you DIY.

I highly recommend purchasing all your badges from one source so they stay consistent. I highly highly recommend Winn Auto sports. The badges aren’t listed on the site, but DM them on Instagram.

    Here’s mine from them:

That’s great to here! I thought Audi was only doing RS badges in black. Saw some RS cars at a dealership with all blacked out emblems

My current black S4 badge is from Tag - It took about 3 months to get. Unfortunately the red part isn't painted as I thought it would be (their site description didn't state the red part being painted so perhaps that was a mistake on my part), the red part is vinyl which was a bit disappointing considering the cost of the badge ($180 + $23.99 shipping ). The red vinyl is already peeling and I'm certain it will get worse once it starts snowing here. I don't mean to poop on Tag here, they have always maintained great communication with me when I needed support on my order, but having paid $200+ for something like this should def be of concern to them and their customers.

    pardon my dirty car

So basically $200+ for a repainted badge with some vinyl. RIP

On the bright side of things you can order a replacement decal for the badge at least:
    https://grfxp.myshopify.com/products...mblem-overlays

Grab the decal for $5 (they send you two in case you mess up) or hit up WinnAuto Sports. I got my badge for around $38ish from them.

I was on this search since I purchased the vehicle a few months ago. What I can tell you is this - if you’re detail oriented, nothing other than OEM will look right. After trying many, I ended up buying:

OEM black rings: 150 shipped for front and rear from europarts4less.com.

OEM rear black badge: 100 from Europrice. And yes it’s OEM and black.

OEM front grille badge: 100 from Europrice. It’s also OEM but comes on a badge plate made for the facelift 9.5 grille. So I took off the OEM letters, wrapped the existing plate with a nice vinyl. And will replace the letters with the black ones.

It’s worth a little extra to go the OEM route. You’ll be happy and not have to worry about shit quality and fitment.

That’s is actually not that bad of a price for OEM badges.

Will definitely look since I need the front rings and S4 emblem for my 9.5 front end

Yeah man it’s not bad at all. Make sure you confirm part numbers before ordering because all of my above was in reference to my B9 2019. You’re golden on the grille badge though!

Yea I won't be fixing this, I've already gone ahead and ordered OEM blacked out rear S4 badge from Europrice and boy nothing trumps OEM quality. The badge looks so nice, can't wait to take the old one off.

Yeah I saw the blacked out RS badges on an RS6 at a dealership and they are super super clean. Glad to see they aren’t priced out the roof either so now we all have this option if one wants the absolute best quality.

My $38 badge is holding up great if it ever fades I’ll go oem. Funny enough it has the same application packaging as the oem one pictured.

This is exactly what I did to my b9- all oem emblems, picked up the b9.5 black s4 front badge and did the swap. There is not oem black b9 front S4 badge guys! Stay away from the TAG ones too, the paint chips.....I paid 130$ for oem gloss black rings, 165$ for the gloss black s4 trunk badge and the b9.5 gloss black front badge. Classy, if you feel like doing it again, I wrapped the grille badge backing in a body colored vinyl and the black just POPS. I like it more than all black on black.

And how long did you have to wait with buying those from Europrice? I feel a bit duped as after I ordered they said they drop shipped them from Audi Europe. I’ve been waiting almost two weeks for them to even ship.

Greg- I know we've spoken already and I'll just confirm for you plus other forum users. Most badges will be in stock when ordered, but it just so happens I helped another good customer by splitting a set of badges so the last set that was in stock here only has a front badge. That meant it was quicker to ship directly from Europe for your order vs. wait for more inventory. So far it's been 9 days since your order was processed and when items ship directly from Europe they head out FedEx International Priority, not postal or something slower. That means in some cases if FedEx is feeling peppy that day (hit or miss during Covid) you may see them them the next day.

With that said, on the website when ordering there is a window with terms and conditions that lays out average delivery times for items. For these items it does state:

With such a large number of items being available many items will ship directly from Europe or their manufacturer when ordered. Generally delivery times for European delivery items is 2-3 weeks.

That box needs to be checked to complete any order so it's clear some genuine items may take 2-3 weeks depending on where they ship from. When your order departs you will get tracking ASAP and hopefully FedEx is feeling the holiday spirit to get them to you overnight.

    Cheers,

    Cheers,
Alex was up front and forthcoming with me when I ordered my set of black badges a few days ago and I don’t expect to see them before the middle of December. Just for reference, Mops at Nemesis ordered a set of ABT springs for me 5 days ago. They were dropped ship direct from ABT Germany and arrived on my doorstep today. Mighty impressive given the status of all COVID affected commerce right now. I also had to wait 3 weeks for a watch strap to arrive from the UK through the Royal Post. That’s a bit extreme. Point is, patience is all we got right now.

Alex I appreciate that and consider me the guy who doesn’t read every last word in the Ts and Cs. I wasn’t trying to throw shade at your company at all. Sorry if it came off that way. I will come ti ie to wait and hope they get here soon! Thanks again. Your communication has been awesome.

Just making sure ..:So the OEM back black S4 badge will fit pre and post facelift ? It’s just the front OEM S4 badge that the letters need to be transferred over ? Does the red part of the front S4 badge come off like the letters?

Want to order them just wanna make sure it will fit.

I honestly just plastdipped all of my badges and added a good coat of their clear on top. Looks amazing, cost me $25 bucks at most and as long as you prep properly...takes no time. It was so easy in fact...I had so much leftover paint that I blacked out the family truckster (vw atlas). Which completely transformed that ride as well. TAG Motorsport's reflector housing is well worth the money though. I bought theirs since trying to color match Navarra blue was rather impossible for me. Popped them in and looks spectacular.

Washed the area, alcohol prep and masked it off properly. Also minimum 6 coats of dip at all angles plus a light beginner coat. Then you are golden. With the clear, it's the opposite...the heavier the better.

as long as you properly applied the dip (multiple layers) then yes a toothpick would work but I used a small trim removal tool so I didn't scratch the paint.

I used plasti-dip too, between the price of the parts and the fact that I have a lease it makes the most sense to me. 3 coats of the black with 2 coats of the glossifier and from more than 2 or 3 feet away you would never know it's not painted. The hardest part is the red square in the S. You have to be careful not to damage it when removing the plastidip, and trimming the masking can damage it just as badly. Prep is as Bigdad said above.

^^this! Yeah I forgot about the red part in the S emblem. That kinda sucked...but overall...I'd do it again. YouTube dipyourcar for some advice as well. Their techniques are on point.

Want to order them just wanna make sure it will fit.

Sorry just saw this.....correct the back fits whichever. The front oem black S4 grill emblem however is b9.5 and will not fit your 2018-2019 grill. You have to transfer the square and S4

I've added these to the B9 section as orderable for the pre-facelift. As mentioned the front badge has to be removed from the base plate and affixed to the pre-facelift base plate. The rear badge is identical in size and style for all models.

These are shipping out a bit quicker as Audi was being pretty slow about these at the end of 2020.
