For those that have Milltek exhaust, have a few questions

In looking through the options for exhaust, I’m fairly certain about Milltek being the choice but I’m curious about resonated versus non resonated. Sound clips are awesome but it’s hard to get a real life feel of just how loud it is. For those that have non resonated, are you still on good terms with the neighbors, or would you have gone resonated if you could do it again?

I have the non resonated exhaust.

It’s honestly still very tame. The sound insulation on the B9 is very good, but the exhaust has okay volume outside.

If you want to be loud, you will definitely need a catless downpipe or a high flow cat.

My blowoff valve is louder than my exhaust.

I have non resonated and I agree it’s still tame. I will most likely add the middle resonator if/when I go catless or sport cat in the future just in case.

Thanksis guys for the info. Will be doing the down pipe as well. I’m definitely not looking for the loudest. Any of you have the optional Milltek valve control?

For what its worth I spoke with a few venders and they recommended resonated if you are cat less or have sport cat because of excessive drone. I have a sport cat on the OE cat back and its twice as loud as stock.

This is very helpful. Last thing I want is highway drone.

That sounds ridiculously good! Any CEL with the CTS dp?

Yes, this one does give you a CEL.

Sounds real nice. Is there a workaround for eliminating the CEL? I’m planning on going with a 200 cell cat.

Custom tune shops will do it. Most other companies like EPL or APR won’t. I would go with EPL and live with the cel

Only prob would be when required smog check comes around for registering in CA. Can’t have a check engine light illuminated or it will fail.

I would consider a sport cat that would have less chance of cel or get a custom tune.

Milltek makes the 200cell DP, any idea if that would work?

Assuming the increased airflow is causing the CEL? Just wondering if a spacer on the O2 sensor would be the fix?

No to spacers for now and the Milltek probably won't work. The one that seems to not have a CEL is the RedStar but that's pricey AF.

As Dias said above, the best combo if you plan on running a downpipe/test pipe is:

    Catless/Cat delete? Get resonated catback.
Quality high flow cat? Get nonresonated catback.

If you want a nice tone and the benefits of a full exhaust but don't want it loud, get a high flow cat and resonated. On the flip side, it is NOT recommended to get a cat delete and nonresonated. Multiple people have said it's incredibly loud and the drone is very annoying.

I personally run the Milltek cat delete with the stock exhaust and it's perfect for me. Definitely not quiet but not over the top. Anymore and I'm sure my neighbors would speak up.

    Here's my current setup:

That’s very nice Brock. Essentially what I’m after. I’ll definitely be running some sort of catted DP, so non resonated seems to be the right call.
