Ok so I have searched all over the place and there isn't much as far as using this to actually code a abs module with OBDELEVEN and get good results. Well I got it to work. I have a short video showing the main parts of the process I'll link at the bottom as well as pics showing it worked on my car.
I drive a 2004 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8t manual 6 speed. Idk if anyone really cares I just figured it might save some people a little money as it did me alot of money actually. And also I'll link the model of obdeleven I bought from ecs they have a really good price on it.
I bought the newest one they had for 134 shipped 2 day shipping.
Its the OBDELEVEN PRO NEXT GEN it works with ios and Android. Any how here we go.
Also I am not responsible if you brick something use at your own risk. Good luck :-)
Things you will need.
1.OBDELEVEN PRO I bought the next gen one idk if that makes a difference other than it works with ios and Android and apparently has a faster processor.
2. A good abs module-if your abs module is damaged or has a bad solder this will not work this is mainly if you buy a new or used abs module and need to code it or your stock abs module loses its coding.
let's start!!
Go through all the setup steps with the device. make sure you setup your workshop codes and all that.
Your going to need two codes to get this done. You can either google abs module coding for your model car or go to forums and they explain it or do it this way.
look in your trunk pull up your spare tire and look in that tub area to the right of your looking down at it. there is a sticker take a picture of it. that is all your production codes and options. your going to need it to build the proper code for your car. Your basically going to be using that as a key and look for matching production codes that are on this list below
After you have that picture your gonna do this.
if you look at this graph under this you will see how I made my first code
09575
0- is the first
9-for audi
5-for the 1LE brakes
7-for 4cyl
5-for manual transmission
0?xxx:*Chassis
9 = Audi A4
0x?xx:*Brakes
2 = Brembo 17" (PR-1LJ)
3 = FN3 16" (PR-1LT/1LF)
4 = HP2 16" (PR-1LX)
4 = FNR 16" (PR-1LA/1LG)
5 = FN3 15" (PR-1LB/1LE)
6 = C54 (PR-1LZ)
0xx?x:*Engine
5 = 4/6 Cyl. Diesel
7 = 4/5 Cyl. Gasoline
9 = 6/8 Cyl. Gasoline
0xxx?:*Transmission
5 = Manual
7 = Automatic (5HP19, 5HP24, AG4, AG5)
9 = Multitronic (01J, CVT)
after you get this code this is the one you will enter in the security access tab under the brakes module.
then you will go back to the brakes module main screen and tap coding.
Once you are in there you are going to do the same thing again. Build another code and no it will not be the same as the first one pay attention to the numbers as they are a little different.
here is the layout
0?xxx:*Chassis
4 = Audi A4
0x?xx:*Brakes
1 = C54 (PR-1LZ)
2 = FN3 15" (PR-1LB/1LE)
3 = HP2 16" (PR-1LX)
3 = FNR 16" (PR-1LA/1LG)
4 = FN3 16" (PR-1LT/1LF)
5 = Brembo 17" (PR-1LJ)
0xx?x:*Engine
5 = 4/6 Cyl. Diesel
7 = 4/5 Cyl. Gasoline
9 = 6/8 Cyl. Gasoline
0xxx?:*Transmission
5 = Manual
7 = Automatic (5HP19, 5HP24, AG4, AG5)
9 = Multitronic (01J, CVT)
So I got 04275 this time
0-to start
4-for audi
2-for 1LE brakes
7-for 4cyl
5-for manual transmission.
please pay attention as there are two that say 4cyl the first is diesel . so if you have a 1.8t you want the second option.
Once you have that code your going to enter it and hold the checkmark until it start coding. if it works your 00000 code on top will change to the new code you generated but you aren't done here.
back out to the brakes module main page and click basic settings. once there your car is gonna beep and dash lights are gonna come on don't be alarmed. :-) lolz.
anyhow make sure your steering wheel is dead center it will give you a few options but the only one you want is the steering angle sensor calibration. click that then click and hold the little start or arrow button. let it do its thing. if everything worked like it did for me all your dash lights like the blinking brake light. the abs light and the traction control light should be off now. Do not hit anything else in that menu after its done. just back out of that menu.
Go back to the brake module main page and click fault codes and rescan if everything is good it should be all clear no codes and your esp button should work again.
I will not that my abs light was on till I drove it about a mile but that was my fault as I got a little crazy with the basic settings and accidentally did the brake bleed function lol.
You should be done. I hope this helps anyone with a obdeleven pro.
If you look in the pics before coding it said control module incorrectly coded. And had 00000.
Then after coding it saved it all and no faults or lights on the dash traction control and abs work again.
