    Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 Review

Hey everyone I just got my winter tires installed today. Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 235/35 R19 91W XL on factory staggered wheels.

    Some initial impressions:
    1. They are definitely nicer over small bumps and imperfections in the road compared to the stock pirellis. There is still a significant thud over bigger bumps, expansion cracks etc but im very happy with overall comfort and ride quality improvement.

    2. They do feel heavier then stock from an acceleration perspective. Maybe it is just in my mind but it does feel like the car is pulling less hard possibly because of the extra weight the engine is having to turn at the wheel.

    3. Handling is much better than i was expecting. Sure they are softer and in harder turns you can feel the flex of the tire but they are handling WAY better than i was expecting. For my “normal” spirited driving i will not have to change the way i drive and that is a good thing. Obviously the ultimate limit is lower.

I have not had a chance to test snow yet but look forward to it. Temps today were 45-50 F.

    Hope this helps someone.

I really like the pa4. The RS3 is getting setup once the hub rings arrive. Went with 245x35 on a 9” rim. Square. Et42
