    A4 2015 b8.5 wheel fitment

Hello and thanks ahead to everyone helping and answering 🙏🏽

I just purchased an A4 2015 1.8 tfsi cvt 120 hp it comes with 17 inch wheels 225/55r17 all around now my question is what is the maximum size I can upgrade to without damaging my car.

i read at the forums that people run 19x8.5 with 255/35r19 all around with no problems but I wanna know for sure that there won’t be problems because some people told me my gear and engine Will have difficulty spinning them unless is wheel 18 lbs max

My question is if I do ecu tune I will bump my power to 210hp and 320nm will it be enough power to drive those wheels, and will there be no rubbing issues and I want to lower it on H&R have to take that in consideration

I asked couple of questions in one thread I don’t know if that’s allowed but thanks 🙏🏽 for your time and you help

I’ll drop a picture for reference

Considering 19x8.5 et43 with 255/35R19 is a stock size, you can certainly run them without clearance issues. And I assume you mean you have 225/50R17 tires.

As for any increased weight, the car is still going to move. Even if the weight was +10lbs per corner (tire change 225/50R17 to 255/35R19 is less than +1.5lbs per corner), that's just +1% of the whole car. You're not going to really notice. And the suspension and springs and dampers are the same regardless of factory 17", 18", or 19" wheels.

Thinking too much into it. People are running 20's fine. Well, maybe with some rubbing issues but either way, the car still moves.

19x8.5 et35 you can run with minimum issues. Slight rubbing but only when I'm taking hard turns.

The OEM 19x8.5 et 32 wheels on my A5 weigh 28.5lbs. So no it should not be a problem. You should run a 255/35/19 tire on that size wheel.

A 19” wheel on a 120hp engine won’t slow the car down dramatically?of course which wheel/weight of wheel has to do with it but still?
My engine produces 265hp/195 kw from factory and i did a little research before putting the 19” on.

    Attachment 209510With a 19x8.5 wheel I wouldn't go 255 tire maybe 245 or 235 on 8.5 ,I have 19x8.5 wheels and run 235/35/19 lowered and never have issues

The 255 tire width is the OE recommended from Audi for 19”x8.5 rims
The 235 on your 19x8.5 is probably stretched and doesn’t provide any rim cover.

Looking at PSAS4, the measuring width for the 235/35R19 is 8.5", with a section width of 9.6".
8.5" is the min width for the 255/35R19, with a section width of probably 10.0" on 8.5".
But the speedo/odo error will be there, and /35 is already reducing the sidewall a lot with the stock overall diameter.
