Anyone running the ECS Luft-Technik cold air intake on their C7/C7.5?

Looking for feedback. Like that it incorporates a heat shield. Posted power gains of an additional 16hp with APR stage 2 tune is interesting. Any seat of the pants rear wold testimonials out there?

I'm sure you're looking for a 3.0 review but I installed one on my c7.5 2.0. Tbh, I used a b9 ecs luft-technik bc there isn't one for the 2.0. Only thing that was fabbed was the heat shield and air dam since the b9 and c7.5 2.0 are the same engine. But overall I like the intake. I surely can hear the turbo. My only issue is that with my current mods and the stock intake, I never encountered any overboost code. Once I installed the ecs, I would occasionally get overboost code at part throttle. I installed the stock intake back on and doesn't happen. But the car def loves the ecs at wot.

Again, this may be different with the 3.0 guys.

I have one on my dual pulley stage 2. I can’t speak to before and after since I did both at the same time. I can say that the fit/finish of the intake is fantastic and you definitely can hear the supercharger with it. It is audible at moderate acceleration, loud at WOT.

Looking clean! I’m leaning towards the APR tune either stage 1 or sp stage 2. On the fence!

I’m curious how you like your TCU tune as I’ll be looking to add that as well.

I can only comment on Melen’s TCU tune, as I’ve read both positive and negative about some of the others out there, but it was money well spent. Car shifts better in every mode, getting progressively “harder” as you move from D to S to Manual. Rev limit and launch rpm are raised allowing you to leave in the power band and stay there longer in each gear. Combined with the dual pulley setup I’m currently running 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and 1/4 in 11.6. I think I might be able to knock another tenth or two off when it gets colder down here as well.

I got a RKX silicone hose and wasn't happy with the fitment. Thinking of going with the ECS intake. I like the design with the silicone hose.

Mckay, did you ever end up installing the ECS Luft-Technik on your A7? I just ordered one for mine. I’m not really expecting any significant performance out of it, just want to hear my supercharger a little bit lol.

I did! Fit and finish are excellent. Even the packaging is impressive. The thing sounds fantastic. Even at partial throttle you can hear that blower whine. At WOT it is all there...addicting. They say with a stage 2 tune it’s good for about 20hp. I’m currently APR stage 1 and she feels great!

Hey guys. I just installed mine last weekend and I have to say I am in love with the supercharger noises. As far as power. If there is any difference, it’s negligible. As with most intakes, people do it for induction noise. That’s all I expected and I was not disappointed.

Awesome congrats Mckay. How long did ECS take to ship your CAI? I’ve been waiting just over month now. I talked to customer support and they keep pushing back my ship date 3x pushed back, now saying March 10th. Really debating having them cancel the order, and paying up for the AWE S-Flo. Huge price difference my only draw back.

+1 I'm looking at this as well, since the intake tube is metal you can get it ceramic coated or put the reflact-a-gold heat tape around it to keep temps low

I have the ECS LT Intake and my butt told me that I was faster and that is all that matters to me. I don't have a draggy or p3 so no "evidence" per say, but I am certainly happy with the purchase. It sounds great as well, just enough SC whine under daily driving load, a bit louder WOT.

I'd love to see a comparison between these "power gains" with intake VS a RS7 box which cost $100 less the price and keep the car stock looking :)
