    Audi Exclusive Colors

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I posted earlier about the SQ5 I ordered for my wife. It is spec'd with ultra blue but now my wife is thinking Samoa Orange. . . I have 12 days before it locks. What do we think about a custom color for an SQ5 it is about $3400 more than the ultra blue. . .

Worth it? While I know it is sunk cost but do we expect audi exclusive colors hold value better, in more demand. . .

Of course this is the old body style but I kinda dig it https://i.pinimg.com/originals/d6/bd...d929ffd638.jpg

    Thoughts?

I don't like either color but if you do that's all that matters... and you'll certainly be one of very, very few out there on the road.

I bought mine because of the rarity of the color. Now I wish I had just ordered one of the exec colors. Mines navaro blue. A Rivera blue sq5 would be the bomb.

Also it’s nice not being the same as most others.

An exclusive color is really more a personal preference. I don’t think the orange will add value in resale. A Q5 isn’t the first choice for car enthusiasts so specing yours in that color will only narrow down the list of potential buyers. Other than that it does suit the car and it sure is bold.

    A bit savage.

You asked for an opinion and then nailed the first one that came in.

Anyway, buying such a colour will for sure limit your resale and maybe even reduce its value. But, that’s not the point, right? You like it, so pull the trigger. It’s definitely bold.

Idk why you'd bother posting this thread as color choice is 100% a personal preference.

    What this guy said.

Both colours are not worth $3,400, but it's your car, your choice, your money. Enjoy!

Calm down there pal. While color is completely subjective and I stated my opinion on what I like and dislike I also made it quite clear that it's only your wants/desire/happiness that matters. You asked the question if it's worth it. To me, no. To you, apparently yes. But who the fork cares what a bunch of us asshats here think. If you like it that's all that matters. You shouldn't be concerned with people on the interwebs you'll never meet will think about what you like and don't like. Trust me, you'll be a much happier and pleasant person.

...and by the way, your wife is ugly... and, I love you.

The problem with your post is I actually don't care if you like the color or not, it was more about the exclusive option and you opinion was useless. . . like you. . . I was mistaken that this group, unlike my Porsche groups, actually have knowledge they share and don't waste my time . . .

For clarity, I'm actually very pleasant and happy. . . you should try sometime so you too can be as successful. Good luck with your little peasant life...

I’ve actually seen the opposite. People like to drive unicorns. I think that orange with black optics lowered would be fantastic.

Obligatory Bender GIF for attempting to claim that any Porsche group is more useful information than pompous opinions tossed around like dollar bills at a strip joint.

OK, now that that's out of the way; only 0.4% of cars are purchased in orange and they're often sports cars (though not always). So you're already working with a tiny market out the gate. An exclusive color could potentially hold more value (just like a PTS Porsche could potentially hold more value), but it really depends on if you can find a buyer that thinks that color is worth more to them. Seeing as you're already working with a tiny base percentage, the amount of people who would likely think an exclusive orange is worth more is probably like 10...maybe 12 people.

Zero value on resale and a much smaller market.

I went exclusive as a personal preference, I wanted something different.

Having an exclusive color won’t help you get more money on resale, yes makes your vehicle special but only to you.

Personally, I’ll pay more for something I know I won’t see on every corner and at every Starbucks parking lot lol

    Re-sale value to whom...?
    1. Private buyer? If you find a guy that wants to pay extra for something he can buy for less - then yes it will be increased re-sale value.
    2. Dealer? Veeery small increased value IF any....

How do you want to receive a sensible advice that actually should be considered, if the hat of this whole “speculation” is hung on variables nobody can predict.... like c’mon man... even Porsche groups aren’t this superior.

Ps - B9 SQ5 is just beautiful with Magma Red and that red would look weird topped with orange exterior....

Re-Sale value - there is way too many much nicer options than orange B9 SQ5, so even people looking for oddity will give it a pass.

I decided to take a stab at giving you an actual advice - rather then hoping to be as knowledgeable as Porsche groups when responding.

Take that 3,4k back to the pocket - choose a “regular” color and wrap your car for 2,5k. This way you can hold value better as the paint will be protected and when selling you can find buyer easier as now you give someone a color “option”.

People crack me up. It’s his rodeo. If he wants to ride around on a rubber ducky, smacking a donkeys ass. It’s his prerogative. His color choice. That’s it. No more no less.

Who cares about resale based on color? Are you buying your vehicle for the next person? You are buying it for you, enjoy every moment of it while you can. I ordered my TTRS AE just so I get the color that I wanted. Sure, the next person wants to see white, black or silver/grey, F...them!! It’s your vehicle now. Most colors are boring, life is too short to be bland. Go with either color, they would be great. We have two AE cars right now, worth every penny.

I am all for the orange though, you wont see yourself driving down the road and you could get a black vinyl Jack-o-lantern decal to throw on the hood every October if you want. I was looking at an Orange TTRS, I would have done the same if I would have bought it. It didn’t have all the options I wanted.

Hopefully you’ve taken your highly successful ass back off to your Porsche group so you don’t need to interact with us blue collar plebs.

I've of the opinion that pretty much every color Audi offers looks better with black optics and black badges. But don't tell OP that, he may get butt hurt again.
