Hi all, I’ve been googling away and there seems to be tons of different locations for alarm horns and I can’t find mine on my b8 A4... anyone know or have a photo of the A4 b8 alarm horn location?

Looks like it'll be in the plenum chamber somewhere. You're looking for https://dalys.lt/en/autoparts/audi/a...-siren/1557364

on a related note, i find the alarm on this car pathetic to embarrassing ... i wish there was a way to code it to the car horn like 90% of other vehicles.

I was surprised to see it didn't use the two-tone horn system already in the car. Not sure why they bothered with adding another noise maker unit, for a manufacturer that will do the dumbest things sometimes to save a penny. Maybe the alarm horn unit is actually a control module.

The H12 alarm horn uses a 3-pin plug, 12v, ground, and purple/white to the J393. So wonder if that's a LIN bus line or just a signal line.

E217 Alarm system deactivation switch - we have an alarm system deactivation switch? E183 Interior monitoring switch? These must be Euro things. Apparently they are on the driver's door. I have no such switches on my door.

The H2 and H7 horns are driven by the J413 horn relay, controlled by the J519. I guess that would require CAN bus comms to communicate (the alarm sensor is connected to the J393).

yeah but there is still no reason the module output still couldnt go to the horn .. i think the reason is it has a rechargeable battery in it, so if the power line is cut it will still alarm .. i think i read that somewhere.. not sure if its true..
