Primary AND secondary down pipes for Audi A7 3.0 TDI?

Hello all, I've got a 2014 Audi A7 3.0 TDI and would like to install a new downpipe. I've emailed Darkside Developments and was told there is are primary and secondary pieces. Do I need both of them and what have other people done? On the fence on buying one now, thought it was going to be ~$380, if I need both, it'll be almost double.

You don't have to. I have a Darkside DPF delete, which goes the turbo to the actual downpipe. Made a world of difference, particularly in throttle response. There are a couple negatives, which includes diesel exhaust smell and the car taking longer to warm up. That said, I have no regrets.

I think I paid $360 for DPF Delete before shipping (which arrived like 2-3 later to the east coast) last year. The delete pipe itself is beautiful. Great welding, and it looks and feels so nice.

Question about your EGR delete. Did you blank it out at the turbo or something and leave your pipes. I feel like I would have to disconnect a lot to do a complete EGR delete

What kind of power gains did you find with the stage 2 and DPF delete?

Yeah it's at the turbo. Here is a link to my build thread (warning: picture-heavy). It's like 20 pics down. Also you can see the downpipe in some pics. And get my impressions.

I haven't measured it but my butt dyno definitely feels a bit faster and it pulls harder. My link above to my build thread has some of my impressions.

That said, I am starting to encounter some drivetrain slop, so I surmise my next mods will be the bushing stiffening kits and probably rear sway bar.

Were your oil temps affected by the DPF delete? I've got the boost screen unlocked via VCDS and my temps range from 203F - 213F. 213 F happens after I pull a few times from a stop light and in the winter (60F - 70F) + warmed up. Summer oil temps will hit 231F max from pulls and it's 99F outside

Before the dieselgate fix, I would never hit above 198F in the winter and 223F summer.

Have not noticed any impact on max oil or coolant temps. I've got the lap timer enabled but also a P3 gauge.
