    Carista Audi Mods that Worked

Have a 2020 A3 and bought the Carista app to see if it can do some mods I want without buying VCDS. Was going to get OBDEleven but I heard Carista is good so I tested it.

Primary goal was to have Oil Temp display, adjust Virtual Cockpit color theme, enable more rear power through haldex, and disable Auto start/stop.

Things I was able to do that I enjoyed:
    - Increase Traction Mode (More Power to the Rear Wheels)
    - Locks the door if all doors are closed and key is outside (THIS IS THE BEST ONE)
    - Changed throttle response to Direct which has a linear feel. Definitely enjoy this throttle response over the stock gradual setting.
    - Can turn off DRL by placing it on the off position. Turns on by being placed on Auto (I like to call this mode Black Out mode)
    - Scandinavian DRL (Rear tailights also on)
    - Gauge needle sweep (This looks eh on Virtual cockpit)
    - Enabled developer mode for Virtual Cockpit (I have no idea what I can do through this)
    - Can change Audi logo on VC and MMI startup. There were 8 types, Type 2 being the S3, Type 5 being the RS3 and Type 7 being A3 Quattro. Couldn't see the difference between the other types. I kept mine on 7 because I'm not about misbadging my car.

I couldn't get the oil temp display to work and the DIS display. Guessing it's because of VC. Was really hoping to get adjustable color settings on VC but I guess it's not available for 2020 A3s. Same with the start stop feature :( It also doesn't have live data so you can't see gauges or boost which I guess some other apps can. The diagnostic portion worked well and I liked I was able to see the Launch Control count in services. You can also release your Emergency parking brake for service.

Overall for 30 bucks and a 10 dollar 1 month membership Im pretty happy with the changes. I have 29 days left so if you're in the SD area feel free to hmu and I can code your car for free.

I could not get the oil temp display or color settings to work either on my 17'. As far as the stop-start you should be able to change the actuation voltage level which will disable it. I forget what module it is but just do a search and you will find it.

Thanks, I couldn't see the feature for start-stop so I decided to purchase OBDEleven to see if it can enable features carista couldn't. Will give an update to see which one is better.

Post again with the list of changes you make in ODBeleven -- just got it but not sure which apps are the "must-haves".

Suggest coding everything yourself. Would not use the apps. This way you know exactly what was changed in case you need to revert back.
