Right side adaptive headlight bulb is out, left side still works, does anyone know what kind of bulb is it? It looks like its pain in the ass to get there

I think back in my research before I bought my S7 I looked into this and that was pretty much the case. I had to replace my HID A6 light and it was a small fortune, leading me to look into it. A couple years ago granted, but I think so.

Willing to let anyone with direct experience on LED confirm or deny though.

The downside of LED's. No one is replacing them down to the component level...at least not yet. Same goes for tail lights.
In theory the LEDs should have an near infinite lifetime, but in reality they do not.

okuruca - is the light itself out or the leveling? There is a separate controller for the leveling.

    - - - Updated - - -

Could be a controller or sensor

As waste of a money as this sounds, it's a dealer configured item. Maybe just go in to see if they can code it out and fix it. At worst out $150 instead of $900+

Yep. Personally I would just leave it alone. Sucks but not worth the cost if the regular headlights still work.
On a 2014 RS7 the list of actual replaceable bulbs is about 4.
    The reverse lights.
    Trunk light.
    Glove box light.
and possibly the interior door light.
That's it. Everything else is LED and is sometimes mad loot. sorry.

There is a power supply driver for the cornering light. You really need to give vehicle specific info in the first post. You didn't even say what model you have, so I went A6 with adaptive cornering HIDs, not LED housings.

There are FOUR headlight options on pre-facelift A6 models alone, the RS7 has five. If you have full LED headlights, we need to know if they are regular LED or Matrix LED. The only way to know that is the option codes tag in the spare tire well.

The LED drivers that can be replaced as opposed to replacing the entire lamp housing, but knowing which module you need depends on the lighting option your car has.

Good point...power module could be busted.
The cornering lamp power module 4G0907472B looks to be a $600 dealer item
Might be cheaper on ebay and looks like there may even be some aftermarket alternatives.
Even at $150 I'd be tempted to just leave it off.

previous owner actually mentioned a module! this must be it, I wonder if they are plug and play or needs to be coded after replacing a module..

I would say yes, based on personal experience with “basic” setting. VCDS is fun to modify and log, but don’t think it does these dealer level functions.

Edit: there are some VCDS tutorials that say DONT DO THIS or you’ll have to go to the dealer.

Yes, and here's what they breakdown into:

    Code:
    PRCode: 0G7 = Tiptronic

So knowing that, you have standard LED headlamps, so your controller is 4G0907472C. Yes, it will need to be coded if it is bought new. If it is used, you can probably just pop it in and be done with it. It is only found on the A7 and RS7 cars. VCDS would be able to pull your current coding for you to copy to the used module, if needed.

Here's one on eBay for a couple hundred bucks.

It's baffling how complex these cars have gotten since my B5. Knowing PR codes to get parts is a must, everything has to be coded anymore, super complex control modules. It's both amazing and a curse.

I'm surprised we don't have to code a bottle of water to keep it in the cup holder.

Is it possible to code the system with vcds to have it not read for this bulb? I’m not looking to spend 2K on a headlight and coding for a useless feature...

There is VCDS coding for lights... I do not know what it would be for headlight assemblies, however. Perhaps reach out to alex at europrice as he does retrofits and those almost always require some coding. There may be usable info to be had if you can get headlight codings...Be warned, the light coding stuff isn't user friendly at all. Just channels and numbers. HERE is an example of something I did to tail lights as an example.

And here is what I mean by coding retrofit

That's my table, nothing like it exists for headlights I'm aware of.
    2013 A6 3.0T - Slightly better than poverty package.

    Past:
    2009 A4 2.0T Avant - Totaled
    2000 A4 1.8T - Sold
    1999 Millenia S - Sold, though it should've been crushed 'n cubed
1997 A4 1.8T - Totaled, repaired, sold years later better than before
1990 Maxima - Totaled from hail dents
    1987 Maxima - Sold
1986 Golf Diesel - Rusted and fell apart

Yeah I pulled it from your thread. I also used it to figure out my little mod for face lift tail side bulbs. Awesome chart

Not user friendly but doable. With advice from these folk and others on AZ I also changed the OEM reverse and rear fog bulbs on my 2014 C7 S6 (with non-Matrix LED headlights and LED DRLs) to aftermarket LED bulbs from deAutoLED. To my knowledge those are the only non-LED exterior bulbs on my car. The replacement LED bulbs worked perfectly first time; no codes. The reverse bulbs may be a little brighter than the non-LED OEM bulbs. The rear fog bulbs seem to be a little less bright but more focused than the OEM non-LED. No foggy conditions yet to test; I wonder if the new bulbs will be more visible directly behind the car. Pricey replacement but should have much longer life span. I suppose Audi decided to save some money on bulbs that are least-often used.
