    Carbon fiber mirror caps

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Does anybody have the OEM carbon fiber mirror caps? Do you think they are worth the cost or should I go for the replicas? I had a set of replicas on my A3 and they looked good but thinking about getting the OEM ones. Seeing that you can get replicas for about a quater the cost maybe that's the way to go? Thoughts?

Poor fitment, wind noise, eventual discoloration and or delamination is what you can expect from aftermarket. You get what you pay for

I would recommend getting the oem ones , you can find them on Ebay from time to time and they are usually pretty well priced. There's actually a set on there right now starting bid at 220. But they are the non side assist ones. Keep an eye out and I'm sure you'll find a set

I have the OEM ones, with the help of an S3 owner he did a video of the install. He was very impressed by the OEM version vs the aftermarket ones he owned. I went ahead and got ppf on mine but the issue with the aftermarket ones had less to do with CF quality and more to do with internal webbing for fitment. OEM is just a better product especially for install and fitment.

I bought cheap ones. Then after they warped in the sun I got the oem ones. Oem was wrapped just like cheap ones. But they have held up fine.

I had the oems as well and did not like the fitment. They would overlap almost to the lower portion of the housing not providing a flush fit along with the side assist indicators where they no longer seated flush but inwards.

OEM is best just get them from Audi and they’ll be covered for quality and fit.
