Is that before the tax, on a 2020?

    2020 TTRS Price Right Now

68k fully loaded with Audi care pre-tax (79.5k msrp). Initial offer was 72k via email. A dealer from a neighboring state got me a 68k quote and I got it matched. Selling the car after 3 months due to terrible experiences with it so my “deal” actually turned out to be more of a curse!

Yeah 72.9 pretax. I probably could've pushed hard for another 1-2k off but it was the exact car I needed with no additional nonsense like nitrogen, car coating or tint. MSRP was 79k. At the time it was the only Daytona/Red w OLED tails. I was negotiating for car while it was on the boat and out of state purchase. Worked out perfectly. Dealership gave me limitless access to their garage to wax and rainX car before signing the paperwork. Flew from Jax to CT and drove car 1000mi home. Thank you AUDI Greenwich in CT.

Couldn't you lemon law the car?

Your $68k deal is pretty amazing.

I really like a '19 Turbo Blue TT RS for sale, that has only 2,354 miles and is Audi CPO. With that, the warranty would be good for almost four years. It has the Technology Package, Dynamic Package, RS Design Selection Interior, and Black Optic Package. Formerly an Audi of America company car. Asking price is $69,990. So my question is, what kind of price should I be shooting for, or would it make more sense to spend the same or perhaps a few thousand more for a new 2020?

Strange times man..... In 2018 these cars sold for MSRP. I bought mine with 2000 miles for $10k off list. Now it appears people are getting $10k off list new!!!! What's it worth to you to buy used vs new? I think if I were buying used today I would want $20k off MSRP because you will soon get hit with another year of depreciation. If list price was $79k I would want the car for $59k which seems fairly legit in todays market.

For the same '19 TT RS in my previous comment that has 2,354 miles and is CPO, it is listed for $69,990, and its sticker price was $76K. I asked for 7% off list, or roughly $5K, which would be approximately $65K. The dealer countered with $66K but WITHOUT CPO, and $67,500 with CPO. I'm not going to pursue that. Besides I still have my '18 ATS-V Championship Edition to sell and I'd really like that gone first if possible. But running into a bunch of tire kickers and low ballers.

CPO is useless if you plan to tune.

Aside from what the market is doing right now I would pay $60,000 for my car as it sits with 10k miles. Market value might be more or less but I feel my 2018 is still worth $60k.

From my own personal perspective I'd shy away from modding any car right now, so an intact warranty would be of value to me. Maybe if I were younger but at this stage in my life, I try to find the car that is high performance enough for me, without feeling that down the road I'll want more.

I am looking at a used '20 with 3,500 miles, $76,945 sticker price. It is listed at $71,990. Assuming someone bought it for 7% to 8% off sticker, that would have been around $70K or so. Auction price is high $50K to $60K. So between that and the original sales price, I have to figure on a dealer wanting to make at least $5K on the sale after auction. That should put it at $65K sales price. Does that sound right?

I really don't know. With 2020 being a dumpster fire I would think you could get $10k off MSRP new.

I'd find email some dealers to see what the best price on a new one would be. It sure sounds like Audi is discounting heavily right now. If I could have gotten a new one for $10k off list that is what I would have done.

The auction price you have listed is far to wide. Lets just go with auction being $50k because that is likely more realistic. You should be able to get that car for $55K easily. Is it exactly what you want?

I heard back from the dealer that is selling a used '20 with 3,500 miles that stickered for $76,945 and is wanting $71,990 for it now. I brought my figures of the auction price being $50K to $60K. Yes, that is too wide a range, so let's meet in the middle and say $55K. The dealer says '19 models are going through auction at $59K to $61K but not enough data on '20 yet. Dealer further asserts that TrueCar shows approximately $1,500 in savings from MSRP on a brand new '20. So I'm to believe a new '20 that stickers for $76,945, someone is buying it for $75,445? Yeah, I'm sure there are people who will pay full price, or close to it, because they weren't able to negotiate a better price. But when I hear of getting $10K off sticker for a new '20, it's hard to imagine buying for $68K. Maybe the best route is getting an '18 for low to mid $50K range? Thoughts?

Car prices are all over the board. I would determine what its worth to you and go with it. But before you do that low ball the shit out of your dealer.

I crack jokes when I'm shopping and they decline my offers. I say .... I'm confused .... you do sell cars here right? I bring up the new model year rapidly approaching, the off season, the fact it's depreciating each day of year one by $25 per day.

I know most car dealers are reputable businesses but they are in the business to maximize profits, so they'll try to get top dollar first, lower the price eventually if a buyer is persistent enough. You have to be ready to walk away from a deal, and I'm sure you are. My biggest problem is I'm having a lot of trouble finding a buyer for my car ('18 Cadillac ATS-V Championship Edition coupe). I have priced it competitively, and most people within the ATS-V community have stated that it's a good price. Yet I'm only getting tire kickers, low ballers, and hard luck stories. I have it listed for $47,997. I had one buyer at $48,000 but had to back out because he couldn't get a good price on the Z06 he was trying to sell. I've had a couple of offers at $44,000. Dealer wise, they will only give me $39,000, maybe $40,000. I do have a loan but at least I'm not under water in any selling scenario.

Bump, I'm curious to see what people have been paying for 2018/higher mile 2019 CPO cars. I'm currently playing the waiting game for a car with options I want at the lower end of the price range and is still under warranty.

I bought my 2018 TT RS like 3 weeks ago with 1800 miles for 60700. Just as another data point for you.

I'm hoping to pick up a 2018 with about 14k miles for 58k pre tax. I've been looking a lot and I dont see really better offers. I dunno if because it's coming to end of production. But I found what looks like a in shape model in the color I want, so jumping at it.

Yeah that sounds about right and fair to me for a car with that many miles. Mine is also CPO too so I think you are in the right ballpark.

The prices for an '18 TT RS (well, for that matter, a '19 and '20 as well) seem on the high side. Granted, an '18 brand new had a sticker price of, what, the low $70K range? To be selling for low to mid $60K after three model years seems a bit much. But that's just my personal observation and opinion. And to be sure, a car is worth whatever people are willing to pay for it, not whatever it is listed for.

2021’s have started to hit dealers! Anyone see their local one offer any incentives on 2020 TTRS inventory? Best I was able to get out of a local dealer was $78k OTD for a 2020 TTRS with black optics and RS design interior.

I just did a search on new 2020 and 2021 TT RS on cars dot com. The '20's were priced from $75,495 to $82,445, and the '21's were from $75,145 to $77,895.

If the 2018s are still selling for $60k that is great news for me! I'd sell mine for that right now if I could get a deal on a 2018 R8 V10 Plus .... unfortunately for me .... those cars are holding their value as well.

If had $80k to spend and was trying to decide between a 3 year old 2018 for $60k or a brand new 2021 (final edition) for $75K it would come down to whether or not I was going to modify it. If the plan was to stay stock I would buy brand spanking new. If not I would try to find a great deal on a 2018. There will certainly be some private sellers willing to let the 18' go for less than $60k.

My thinking as well. What are differences between 18/19/20/21?

The 2018s had a different interior and slightly different exterior .... and the 18s didn't get all the 19+ emissions crap. Many are reporting that the 19+ have detuned launch programming making them softer off the line.

There really isn't enough make a weighted decision one way or the other.

I'll be in the market for a new or CPO ttrs very soon as well. On the fence between finding a sub 10k mile cpo or paying a decent chunk more for new. The wife said this will be my final car for what that's worth haha.

Unfortunately with how scarce these are, I've only sat in a regular TT and a convertible at that. I'm in love with the 5pot and design of the TTRS though.

I picked up my car recently for 58K includ tax. Car is a 2019 but with miles on the "higher side" (26k) compared to what else has been said in this thread. Car also came with prepaid audi care up to 50k & I got brand new winter tires (18" that i will be mounting on my own set of wheels for winter) thrown into the deal as well. Whoever bought the 2018 Cat Red TTRS from Audi Wilmington, if you're in here.... i have some stories about that car for you... lol (I wasn't its previous owner, but that car was originally listed in MA).

Email Audi Exclusive and get a custom color while they still have them. With some negotiations you can get one for ~75k. If it's your last great car you'll be glad you went all out!

I like the way you think! I don't have a color I'm in love with for that extra cost, other than sepang blue. I think I'd be better off saving that money and wrapping the car down the road if I get tired of the color.

Realistically the last splurge/sports car, but who knows what the future holds. Full disclosure, she said that about my current car too.

If looking for a used TT RS, I’d go for the lowest mileage 2018 that you can find. 2018 was the first year for the aluminum block engine, and ‘18’s don’t have the stupid fake rear wheel extractor vents. I don’t think there were any engine or engine control changes for North American TT RS’s from 2018 to 2021.
This is a dinosaur’s opinion, ‘cause I really don’t care about apple CarPlay or android auto.

Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are available on the 2018.

I test drove a 2018 TT which alleviated concerns of the size of the car. With that said I'm now comfortable blind-buying so to speak, and can start emailing dealers for 2021 ttrs deals. Hopefully I'll be able to get a fair discount.

Good to hear. Similar to my situation. Test drove a local '20 RS3 and they wouldn't budge for a discount. Ended up emailing couple dealers across the country and found a brand new one in California. Was a new '19 (bought in June '20) and got ~14% off. After getting enough pictures and what not to satisfy me, got the paper work to pay for it and they had it delivered two weeks later. Checked over the car before I signed the papers from the delivery driver and I've been good ever since as it came with every option I wanted.

Nice, glad it worked out! I was set on the RS3 for a long time, but still keeping it in the 5cyl family. It looks like I'll be going the same route and weighing options between transport or fly and drive. How much was the transport charge from California?
