    EPC light/engine code problem - 2006 A4 2.0t quattro

    Hello,

I have a 2006 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro. I am lost trying to figure out what could be wrong with it.

When it starts it has a rough idle. EPC light is on and engine light is on.
The codes below are the ones that show up on my scanner. It's not the best because it doesn't explain what each code is.

    00048
    09216
    08853
    05491
    00579 (knock sensor #3)
    00051

I replaced the turbo in it about 3 years ago. It ran fine and all of a sudden when I would press on the gas pedal fast it would sputter and have no power. If I eased into the pedal it would be fine. I replaced the hi pressure fuel pump and cam follower. Now it shows the EPC light and engine light with the above codes. I also replaced both 614 relays and the throttle pedal. Still no change. I also replaced the knock sensor #3 and still have the same codes showing.

I'm not sure what the issue could be. There seems to be other people having the same issues that I have read in other forms however none of them have any solutions posted.

Please let me know what could be the issue. I'm not sure what else I could do with the car.

    Thank you in advance!

Did you check the obvious stuff 1st like plugs and swapping coil packs?

I had the same issue at 1 point. I removed carbon off the intake valves replaced a camshaft position sensor. And cleaned all electrical plugs in that area. After I was done putting it back together my light was off I wish I could tell you exactly which one of those things was the contributing factor.

Thanks! I will try that to see if that helps at all. I will let you know. I'll try to get to it over the weekend.

If you clean electrical plugs, make sure to buy electrical safe contact cleaner. Also if you can check for intake leaks. My knock sensor code came up as well, I pulled those plugs and cleaned them also. I should mention when that happened I had just power washed the engine bay (bad idea).

You need to find a way to scan the codes. The dealer said they can do nothing because the code is no longer activated. It keeps crashing until it warms up, so it seems to work better, but I’ve been very easy with it lately, so who knows what will happen if I put a little on.
