A6 2.0t regrets. Are mods worth it?

So I have a 2016 A6 2.0t Quattro. Thinking about going to stage 1. Is it worth it on the 2.0s? Kinda wishing I got the 3.0 but it is what it is. Should I sell and get the better engine?

I had 2.0 A6 stage 1, it was worth the $500. I mean you have the car so why not? This assumes you don’t care about possible warranty implications.

Whilst you will undoubtedly get some bang for your buck given the car is forced induction (and Stage 1 tunes shouldn't break the bank), I still think you're better off getting into one of the more powerful engine variants (3.0T or 4.0TT) to begin with if it is performance you are seeking.

Other mods (wheels/lowering etc) can make sense from an aesthetics perspective but a 2.0T A6 is never going to be a fast car.

Get stage 1, makes a big difference. You’ll have more peak torque than the 3.0t stock along with a lighter front end. There’s no getting around the turbo lag tho.

    I recommend apr.

While 3.0t is the better engine for speed (especially modded), you’ll lose much much more trading the car rather than getting the tune. Also I find the 2.0t engine to be easy to work on with all that extra space that the v6 would take up.

I’d stay away from the 4.0TT unless you know what you’re getting into.

Agree, that’s what I did. Sold A6 2.0 and picked up S7 4.0. I have nothing bad to say about A6 2.0 it was super comfy and not slow as stage 1.

A tune is fine, anything more and you might be better off selling the car then buying the same model with a bigger engine.
