*Got My New Ride* Bronze Wheels On Tornado Gray Metallic?

Is Tornado Gray Metallic a semi-rare color on MY16 Audi A6 3.0T Prestige (Black Optics, S-Line, etc)?

I finally decided on a vehicle and picked up the following:

So, being that I had the same car, but P+, 2.0T, and minus some options before - I already got a feel for driving this bad boy and am ready to just get to the mods fairly quickly this time around.
With the 2.0T I basically had a stage 1 tune on my list of available upgrades, which is why I got the tried and trusted and many-times-modded 3.0T (SC).

So, my dilemma is with the exterior color. I really like the following Nardo Grey on Bronze RS7 and wanted to make my A6 version of this.



BUT, after driving the car a bit I'm starting to like the Tornado Grey. It seems unique, and after searching for similar configurations with this paint, it also seems semi-rare.. I have yet to confirm the number produced in CONUS for this year, but I plan on doing that.

SO, I'm trying to figure out if bronze wheels look good on the tornado grey.

Does anyone have links to iterations/pics of this so I can see if I even like it?

If I can save the $3k for the nardo wrap job and put that in the bank for future MRM (Maintenance, Repairs, Mods) then I might do that.
But I don't want to put bronze wheels on a paint color that doesn't look great with them.

ALSO... To powder coat the current rims bronze or to get new bronze wheels entirely... *rubs chin*

Tornado Gray is a great version of what can be a boring color (gray), what with its alternating blue and silver tones. I don’t know if I think bronze would play as nicely (with those blue and silver tones) as Nardo certainly does.

ya I like the Nardo grey as well, I grabbed the oolong grey metallic as that was my first pick but if I could have found the Nardo same car for same car would have been a tough call. your grey is better than plain silver anyday


those wheels on your color I always say get photoshop and cut and paste it on a good pic of your car and see....cheapest way to do it lol!!!

Yes, I like the gray, don't change it. It goes very well with the bronze wheels, they compliment each other well.

Gray goes very good with bronze. With silver paint then either chrome, silver or gold.

Unless I missed something, the photo of the C7 w/ bronze wheels is Nardo, not the OP’s new car. He was just using that to discuss the idea of a Tornado Gray w/ bronze wheels.

Yeah, basically stating that we all know that Bronze wheels mesh incredibly well with Nardo grey - but not knowing if they would mesh well with Tornado Grey.

And I want to get in a routine that keeps the car looking immaculate or at least much better than most vehicles on the road - so if I kept the tornado grey then I’d still need to have some paint correction done.

I bought mine with ~ 2000 miles on it, and had color correction and ceramic coating done. Now, between details (every month to two months), it looks great with no more than hosing it off. The Tornado Gray might be the best Audi paint color for minimal maintenance.

The C-Quartz Pro ceramic was $1200, the color correction was $950 (8 hrs worth). Although the A7 was nearly-new (dealer car the GM drove), they ran it through car washes often, and thus it needed a lot of scratches removed.

With that being said, I wasn’t quoted a little over $3k for the full wrap by a reputable shop that id actually like to establish a relationship with so I might give them the work if they’ll work me with on schedule

Yo, you’re not kidding.

Also, I have been hard pressed to find any shop in my area that will wrap my car for less than $3k and everyone is booked out like a month.

Imagine undercutting just a little bit by having less overhead..

Talked to one independent guy who does them for $1.5k and he’s booked out like a month at all times. He does them himself and buys material for like what.. $100 tops?

I know it’s time intensive but if you get good at it there’s for sure demand and profit to be made.
