Question Audi A4 B8 avant quattro ABS ESP malfunction

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hello Audi fans! I am new posting to this forum.

I have a problem with fixing my friends Audi A4 b8 Avant Quattro 3.0tdi, it is having ABS, ESP, Tyre pressure and Parking brake malfunction.
I added list of fault codes, as it seems most of these are connected to each other, but I can not understand what is causing it.
It seems like CAN signal fault but at the same time I have heard it can be ABS ESP module itself that is causing problems like this.
Maybe there is someone smarter than me and can suggest the core of the problem

I'd start by getting a better scan tool. Ross-Tech VCDS preferred, OBD11 sort of acceptable. That output is just painful to look at.

But one thing that does stand out:
00287 - Rear right wheel speed sensor
    - Circuit failure

So swap the right rear and the front left wheel speed sensors (seems the same ones are on opposite corners), clear codes, see if you get a new code for right rear or front left. Right rear, you have a wiring problem. Front left, replace the sensor with a new one. The ABS system will be very unhappy while it cannot get good wheel speed data from all four corners.

You have several other electrical faults listed; shouldn't be a big deal to sort through those.

    Thank you for reply.
As scan tool I was using Autocom.
I can get access to VCDS tool end of the week.
Also I can try out all the suggetions also this weekend.

I was thinking the Rear right wheel sensor code may be caused already by faulty communication between modules. For me concerning codes seem to be 01316, 01317 and 00457.
Is it possible that one wheel speed sensor is causing so much trouble in different modules.
The codes are permanent and can not be cleared, faults appear again when igniton is turned on. Nothing changes in codes when driving a car.
Here is the Google Drive link for fault codes as PDF file (may be better to read): https://drive.google.com/file/d/14yd...ew?usp=sharing

I did some research from previous owner of the car, he told that the wheel speed sensor is unplugged.
If the Right rear wheel speed sensor is plugged to the car, then the car starts to vibrate and jerk when driving.
    Maybe the ABS module fault?

Well, that depends, is the sensor faulty (providing incorrect data), is the wiring faulting (causing incorrect communications), or is the ABS module faulty (operating incorrectly though it has correct data).

You can't leave it unplugged and carry on that way. The sensor is wired directly to the ABS module, so comms to other modules would be secondary concern. And most of the other faults are unrelated (00457) or saying "there's a problem with the ABS", which you already know. These modules require proper operation of the ABS module to feel comfortable with their own operation, such as the parking brake module (01317) and the steering module (01316).

So you have the only thing you should be looking at right now, what's the story with the ABS module and that right rear sensor. It could be a $20 sensor, or it could be an extremely expensive replacement of the ABS control module (which Audi considers an integrated, non-separable component of the ABS hydraulic module, ie the thing all the brake lines come from).
