O2 sensor and possible limp mode

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello everyone,

My wife and I scored a cheap 2001 TT 225. Kid was just looking to unload it.
I already removed the wanna be R8 stripe and fixed the leaking thermostat housing with a metal one.
Anyway, I have been racking my brain on a p1113 o2 sensor code. I did relaced the primary o2, but the code came back. Also the TT does not feel to achieve feel power or boost. I own two B5s, so I know what limp mode feels like in those cars.. Now I do not have a boost gauge installed, but I do have one on order.

I performed a leak check and found a leak in the infamous breather tube on the block.

Do you think any of these issues would cause the limp mode....doe you think the leak could cause the o2 sensor code?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

Nice score. The r8 stripes are rice. Glad the TT got an adult owner.
The cracked tube can certainly introduce false air since its after the maf. I would clear the codes do a TB adaptation and monitor MB 32 on vcds. Also log mb 115 actual vs req boost. Mb 20 for timing pull as well. And check the DV! Since u had b5s i m sure u have vcds😂 i hope.
If the AF is off it can certainly go limp when the ECU pulls timing and cut fuel. Also check the n75 for proper operation and do a boost leak on the charge piping and smoke test the intake tract. PCV from factory suck on the these as they do b6 and b5s
Start with that and report back plz. Good luck.

Thank you for the quick reply! You are correct sir, I do have vagcom, and it had more than paid for itself with my B5s.

I will check to ensure that the n75 valve is installed correctly. I know the long nipple goes into the turbo inlet pipe (and thats how it is installed right now).

The previous owner installed a catch can, so that is at least one thing he did right.

When I have time, I'll log the car. I'm thinking about going with a Motoza tune again for this car, so I may have them analyze a log file for guidance.

So I went ahead and replaced the breather hose. It was a much needed thing to do. The hose came out in pieces.
Anyway, I cleared all the codes and unfortunately, the O2 sensor light came back. I kind of feel that there may be another vacuum leak somewhere. I'll try the DIY tool I created, but in the mean time are their any particular vacuum lines that are more prone to leaking?

The SJP. All rhe one way valves. Anything plastic u see.
If you have VCDS u really need to log. Otherwise u r shooting the dark. Are u running lean? Is the DV bad, boost leak? Bad maf? Something aint jiving with o2 sensor readings.
    Post the exact code.

Thank you very much. Will post codes when I scan the car. I'm moving into a new house, so it might be a couple of days.

I'll also log the measuring blocks mentioned above.

I appreciate the helps so far. Thank you!

You have a broken wire to the O2 sensor, a bad plug or bad replacement sensor. Resistance too high is a tell tale sign.

Do you happen to have the pin outs and what the voltages should be?

I was able to log the car today. I am working on charts, but in the mean time, I made one of the MAF vs RPM. The car is completely stock. Do these numbers look low?MAF%20vs%20RPM.jpg

You are definitely low. You should pulling way more air (160'180 G/S)
I dont cliaim to be an expert on o2 sensors as I never had problems with mone but this thread should help.
