Looking To Buy 2013-2015 Audi RS5 Cabriolet

Searching for a 2013-2015 Audi RS5 Cabriolet. I am located in Los Angeles. Would rather have a west coast car. Already searched the normal used car websites. Any info would be appreciated.

I have a 14 S5 cab I got 3 1/2 years ago and have had dreams of what if I had a RS5 cab.................yea 10k more than mine. Anyway I have had what if moments over the years and looked what was available. I looked recently on all the usual car sites. Nation wide there are only 7 or so showing up. Fewer than there were a few years ago. And prices are high. Just keep looking nation wide. I assume you have researched pros/cons of the RS5, particularly used Lots of threads and discussions.

FYI the 8.5 platform is up to 2017.

I thought the RS5 Cabriolet was only available from 2013 to 2015?

You are correct sir. Also nice to see another “enthusiast “ looking for exhilarating top down driving enjoyment but they are a rare breed for sure. Depending on the model year, AOA only brought in a couple hundred (IIRC less than 400 each year) so it may take a while. Keep looking & take a look @ “hippyshakes”if you would like to see the nicest & most tastefully enhanced RS5 Cab on AZ. (IMHO) If I happen to come across anything I’ll send you a DM via this forum. Happy Hunting!,

I'm into "rare" or "limited production" cars. Whick makes it hard to find the right one. Especially a used car. Thanks for looking out.

Sure thing! It's even in your state and can't best the price. I'll settle for my usual 5% finders fee, thanks! ;)

Since I'm no too familiar with this model, is there a place I can go that shows all of the different options/packages that were available for each of the years.

While I am certainly far from an “expert” I remember when I was looking for my cabriolet I was told that most of them would come with almost every option. The only slight differences may be an aluminum or ALU trim package, a driver assist package which has the adaptive cruise control, and is most identifiable by a “cyclops“ looking eye on the lower left-hand side of the grill/front end. The other option if I recall was “comfort seats“ which it appears the white convertible has along w/a salvage title. As previously mentioned, I would insist on a “PPI“ (pre-purchased inspection) regardless of who is offering the vehicle for sale. Due to the “rare“ and “low production #” of these vehicles, replacement parts are more expensive simply by their limited availability. Additionally, some repair centers charge a “premium“ price for repairs on rare or low production model vehicles as they can justify this by the experience and expertise needed to safely and correctly work/repair these vehicles. I have owned three Audi convertibles over the past several years, a 2007 S4 manual V8, a 2010 S5 with a supercharged 3L and the current 2013 RS5. In their stock forms, the RS5 is the clear winner, it’s not even close. Next would be the S5 (more torque) and the final one would’ve been the S4. Hope this helps & I’ll keep hunting for ya as well. Cheers!!

What are you looking to spend? I’m not currently thinking of selling my RS5 Cab, but might be looking to do so in a year or two.

Here are the 2015 sales brochures and options http://www.auto-brochures.com/makes/...Sport_2015.pdf http://www.auto-brochures.com/audi.html

I remember a thread discussion a RS and it was equipped with the base concert stereo. Go figure. Must have been a non audiophile that listened to talk radio only that ordered the car.

Well, found my car. A 2014 with 14,000 miles. Prism Silver Crystal Effect with black interior. Wasn't a West Coast car but I was lucky enough to talk with the current owner. He explained the story behind this car and why I had such little miles. Even though Carfax showed that it had multiple owners, the majority of the time the car was used sparingly by the original owner. Never driven in the snow. Very well kept. Purchased it sight unseen. However, I had the car inspected at an Audi dealership before pulling the trigger. Car was delivered today. Looks pretty good. Going to take it to my local mechanic for a more detailed inspection. I was also able to secure an extended warranty, even though the original manufacturer's warranty has already expired. Also, reached out to Audi and gave them the VIN number to make sure there was no issue with the car. All of the original documentation and miscellaneous pamphlets that come with the car are still in the glove box. It's obvious that whoever bought this car originally knew that it would be something special at some point and wanted to keep everything pristine. I gave my Allroad to my son, who just got his license, and now I'm cruising in a convertible. Midlife crisis. LOL.

If hasn't been done already: unplug the exhaust flap harness in the trunk so that the valves are always open. Also, always toggle the tranny to S :) Have fun!

Congratulations!! Looks like a spectacular find w/ 14000 miles, that’s impressive. Curious as to what warranty company you went w/& what the coverage vs. cost of warranty turns out to be. More pictures are a must, enjoy 😊 your new toy. You will definitely get a lot of looks & attention. Be prepared to “explain” what type/year car it is & remember: “Nothing beats top down driving!!”

Thanks. I had a 99 convertible Boxster for a short while. Definitely fun driving a convertible. The the name of the warranty company is Veritas Global protection. They will not sell it directly to a consumer. You'll have to find a reseller in your state. I got the one that is considered exclusionary. This has the best coverage. Basically everything is covered except for wear-and-tear items. The maximum coverage they offered me was 6 years or 60,000 miles. This will start as soon as I purchase the coverage. Regardless of how many miles I have on the car already.

That's a tough one. Test drove a 2015 in Redondo Beach about 2 months ago. Had 78K miles. Passed on it. You might have to wait a while.
