    MMI update?

Just bought a 2016 S6 - wow what a car. Leaves my 2010 S5 in the dust in every way. I'm in Ontario Canada.

Anyhow I've noted the MMI software is MHI2_US_AU57x_S0536

    Navigation database is 2016.

I'll go ahead and assume that the MMI software has never been updated. How do I do this?

Check with the dealer, there was an open recall to get an MMI update on 2016s (security update) so you should be to get it for free.

Oh FYI you can also activate the factory car play / android auto on a 2016, there’s a guy who does it remote for $155. Had it working on my 2016 RS7 for over a year can’t imagine it having it now.

I do not, haven’t had any problems so haven’t seen the need, but a bunch of people have gotten the MMI security update *before* activating Carplay and had no problems activating Carplay after. If you activate Carplay first it might prevent you from gettin the update, seems to be mixed reports on that.

I did the CarPlay update on my 2016 as described in that link and then later went to the dealer for the latest security update and there was no issue.
The dealer made no comment and the CarPlay still works fine after the security update.
