If you've ever removed the plastic rain guard behind the firewall you might notice a grill covering the intake of the blower fan for the cabin air/climate control system. It looks like this:

Apparently in the Chinese market, this grill comes populated with an external Pre-Filter to help with smog and low quality air in that country. As far as I can tell, the part is only included in Audi's in the Chinese market, however the empty grill is on all Audi's. I searched around and found that the replacement filter for this is widely available in China, but very expensive here in the states. Thus, I ordered mine from Aliexpress.com.

I have not yet received mine, because shipping from China takes a month. I'll update this post with more pictures and details once I get mine installed. I just wanted to get this up sooner rather than later to help out some folks who might want to breathe better air during this awful dusty smokey fire season here on the West Coast =)
