I saw bigger throttle body upgrade on the 3.0t, is there any performance options for the b8 and b8.5 2.0 tfsi?
    Bigger TB or TB spacers?

Grams makes a throttle body for the GTI that works on our cars.

Is there any performance gain? I dont see a lot of thread about it.

Their tuner also wanted to run it on a stock b8 lol they literally rented out a stock b8, threw it on and did some tests. He said it was working fine. But who the fuck is gonna upgrade their throttle body on a stock car? I was running stg 2, intake, exhaust and intercooler. He Still couldnt get it to work even though i left my car for multiple days at a timr for him to tune the grams throttle body. Actually, one of the issues i had was that i misfired like crazy at wide open throttle.

Okay cool. I wonder if it's something our tuner can work with.

APR tried throttle body, intake manifold, and head porting when working on their “stage 3 BT” and found the juice wasn’t worth the squeeze.

Said another way, it’s easier to add a couple psi of boost to overcome modest restrictions.

Well just so anyone looking for feedback on this want's to know. I am stage3 with APR tune, HPA K04 hybrid, cone intake and 3" exhaust and other needed goodies for stage 3. I just installed this Grams TB and it made the car more powerful like it now has a 2.5 L motor instead of a 2.0. I also now runs smoother than the stocker TB. But no increase in throttle response. Feels like honestly 25hp no joke.

I'm running the Grams TB as well, no issues what so ever. Wards Performance Tuning is tuning my car and has lots of logs from tuning a year ago. My motor is out getting sleeved and going for bigger boost ... COVID delays stopped me from getting it back on the road last summer, but well positioned to be back at it again in a few months bigger and better than ever!

You can see shots of it in my build on IG. https://www.instagram.com/AlterdA4

I just did the Q5 throttle body upgrade on my stock system as it was a free throttle body and mine had a broken flap. Idle is perfect O2 sensor and boost guages readings are good 🤞🏾 and she sucks like nobody’s business 🤭. No issues as of yet and no CEL. Drives smooth and

I think he means he took the tb from the 3.2L Q5 and slapped it on the 2.0. The connectors are the same and the potentiometer setup isn’t that different from the tb on the 2.0. I believe you would have to run 3” piping back to the turbo instead of the stock 2.5” or the setup is just bottle-necked.

Most of the highest performing intercoolers for this platform are 2.5” in/out, the current throttle body will support upwards of 500hp, no need to worry until you are above that range.
