    Pinch weld jack pad

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Does anybody make a pinch weld jack pad that actually works? I tried one off Amazon and also the Schwaben Jack pad from ECS tuning.

    here are the results:
    Amazon generic:

The generic Amazon one is getting cut through and split in half seems too soft.... undercoat protection ripping off the pinch weld.

    Here is the Schwaben:

As you can see the pad seems soft and is folding up in my pinch weld still looks abused.

Is this what I should expect or is there something better?

I just recommend getting out an oscillating tool and make a slit yourself on a hockey puck

I have a few of these and will never need to use a hockey puck again. cheap and havent failed me yet. They are magnetic so i just stick it on the pinch weld and then set my jack underneath. There are different depths you can purchase so just measure.

This is great. I have used the ones from ECS as well, they have totally failed and or banged up my car. I'm done with those but would give this alternative a try.

My pinch weld measured slightly thinner than 14mm so I ordered the 0.55" version.

In case anyone wants to know, the .39 width fits my 2014 Q5 just fine. It unfortunately is not wide enough for my wife’s Civic and the .55 is back ordered for a few months. 🤦*♂️

I use these. I cut the slot a bit wider with a hacksaw, to accommodate the wider pinchweld of VWs and Audis.

I am amazed at the holding power of the magnets. I completed the 75k MX 2 weeks ago. I have 1000 miles on since then. I walked up to the car from the passenger side last night and noticed something under the right side. It was the Jack pad still on the pinch weld. Apparently, I forgot to take it off 2 weeks ago.
