Alright guys, thanks for your patience. Here we go..
I'm going to classify these into 3 different categories.
High End Professional Cabinets ($$$$):
The Porsche cabinetry options.
Pretty much all of these cabinets are built w/ 18 gauge steel (double wall construction) and have MIG/TIG welded corners. Self-supported system, so wall mounting is not an option as these are HEAVY. Some are only available B2B and others can be difficult to even find a representative willing to quote out a small garage setup. You're looking at anywhere from $500-$2,000.00 per linear foot, depending on configurations and options.
1. Sonic MSS+
Although I work for Sonic, from a pure data standpoint, the MSS+ line is the highest grade cabinetry available to individuals or industrial clients. Up to 520lb drawer slides, AkzoNobel powdercoating, Blum hinges, integrated power, integrated wiring channels, leveling feet, integrated CNC cut foam tool systems (OCD heaven) and LED lighting options, easiest lifetime warranty in the business, etc. 3"+ higher worktop for a comfortable work height and more storage space. The 3D configurator can render you space exactly and allow you to perfectly build out your dream setup. Modern European design and fits seamlessly in a personal garage or shop environment. Countless options to tailor a solution specific to you.
Available in two colors - dark gray with black handles and black with silver handles. Custom color options available. Stainless, composite, and butcher block worktops available.
2. Lista
3. Rousseau
These cabinets are very high quality, but for a personal garage, I can't recommend them much. Customer service is sometimes lackluster for an individual, as these guys mostly deal with industrial clients. The design is also very industrial, so they are very basic in regard to looks. Their standard level cabinets don't include many features, so be prepared to spend a little extra for power and lighting.
That being said, customization is endless. They can essentially build whatever you want in any color with a given lead time and budget.
High End Consumer Cabinets ($$):
The Audi cabinetry options. Self-supported, as well.
1. Sonic MSS
These are probably the most popular cabinets among consumers (check out Obsessed Garage on YouTube) with a mid-level budget range. Not near as impressive as MSS+, but extremely high quality all the way around. Paired with the Sonic Foam System, you're OCD will be cured. Basically a watered down version of MSS+ with a little less customization and standard features. These are used in tons of dealerships and workshops globally.
Available in grey with black trim. Stainless and butcher block worktops available.
2. Moduline Pro II
These are my 2nd favorite cabinets for personal garages, behind Sonic. Unfortunately, they are pricey and compare with the high-end professional line in that aspect. Although they are made with aluminum, they have great customer service and the quality is top notch. Moduline holds some of their specs close to the chest (like drawer slide capacity), but from what I've seen in person, they are quality cabinets. LED lighting (requires light shields to hide the wiring), integrated power, drawer liners, and locking mechanisms are all additional cost, which is a little frustrating for cabinetry in the price range.
Available in 7 colors, which is awesome. Stainless, aluminum, and butcher block worktops available.
Consumer Grade Cabinets ($):
The Volkswagen cabinetry options. Variable mounting options, but "floating" cabinets typically are synonymous with lighter construction, lower specs, and less durability.
1. Saber
By far the highest quality in this range. Certainly a basic but high quality and great looking cabinet. Not much to mention here - what you see is what you get. 18 gauge steel, 100lb drawer slides. Minimalist design with no branding, which is a plus for some.
Requires some assembly. Available in silver, black, blue, and red. Stainless top.
2. New Age Pro
Never been a huge fan of these cabinets, but the Pro line is a giant improvement. If you are on a tight budget and just need something that looks pretty good and can get rid of some clutter, this is the route to go. These cabinets are a great value for the money. 90lb drawer slides. LED lighting and slat wall options available. Flexible options are nice, as well.
New Age Bold is their lower priced option, but they feel cheaper than they cost (24 gauge steel).
Available in grey, black, red, and white/light silver. Stainless and wood top.
3. Husky Heavy Duty
New to the market. Slightly better value with some sacrifices in quality. They are basic, but quality is pretty decent and the features are nice for the price point. 18 gauge steel, 120lb drawer slides, soft close drawers, and a great matte-black finish. The trade-off is customer service (being Home Depot) will lack.
Pre-assembled. Available in matte black. Rubber wood top.
There is my brief synopsis on the different options you have and what I would recommend. Feel free to ask any questions and I'll be glad to help how I can.
For wood cabinets specifically, UltiMate is the only decent option. Personally, I would have a local cabinet maker spec something out before I went that route to avoid the inevitable delamination, but I know plenty of people happy with the UltiMates! It's worth noting that I am a cabinetry snob, so take that into consideration before listening to me. :-)
