Ordered DMP car design 10.25" android display...

I took the plunge and bought the newest dmpcardesign 10.25" android interface. It has built in apple carplay without need for ant modules. They were very responsive to questions and install seems pretty simple. It is suppose to ship out today. I'll keep yall updated....

I chose dmp because they had the units in stock(rsnav had a waiting list of 120 units) and from the positive interactions and reviews.

they seem to be using the same android display units based on there specs.

I've never heard of that product. Looks really well executed. Do they have actual installation notes or diagrams, etc. Definitely report back!

U should of bought the back up camera. To take advantage to the better screen quality vs OEM.
Supposedly the aftermarket back up camera has a wider viewing angle and better quality

Maybe it's just me, but I find these pop out screens so unattractive. Especially with the huge borders. The new style C-Class and B9's have this and I absolutely hate it. But with the 2020's models they have an option for a wider screen which looks better, not great!

+1 for the B8/B8.5 and BMW E90/E92 who has a screen that flows with the front console.

It's not just you. I would buy the 8.8" option from RSNAV that fits in OEM location, but their trim kit comes with a warning that fitment might suck :/

I agree with you.
Although some cars have a good execution of the tablet style. The KIA Telluride is an example. And an example of the terrible look would be an A3/S3.

I felt the same way about these screens on the b9.
It's not as bad I thought it was imo. I could get use to it. What I hate on these b9 A/S/rs5, the passenger dash where they have the fake ac vents.
Someone local to me have a rsnav type knock off. It was the 10.25" screen.
When I seen it in person, it looked good. I was thinking about getting the 8.8, but when I saw the 10" screen I was sold. It's a touch screen, so it sticks out further which makes it easier to touch. Especially if your shorter.

I plan on getting the rsnav sometime in the future.

Ordered it Tuesday, they shipped it Via DHL Hong Kong on Thursday(they bench test units for 24hours), and it arrived Monday! If don’t get packages from Cali that fast!

Went to install it after watching videos...realized they forgot to send AMI aux cable Instead of getting them to send one, I got it from amazon prime in 2 days. Installed it Wednesday...it takes a good 1.5 hours if you haven’t done it before. It’s pretty straightforward and they FaceTimed me to help with the cable connection locations as they differ from the video. They answered all install and set up questions almost immediately via WhatsApp messaging.

All in all, an awesome upgrade over archaic Audi mmi...main benefit is wireless CarPlay, Waze, Netflix and options for 360 video.

I highly recommend it and them!!

Its huge, how does it look behind it with all the open space? I wonder if you can build a shroud to cover and somewhat incorporate it into the dash to look cleaner. Looks awesome.

Like if you are looking behind the tablet face or outside of the car head on through the windshield. Is there a void, etc. Very curious. I feel like they are about to get a lot of orders. I'm certainly interested.

Curious, do you maintain access to MMI - oil level, green menu, volume controls, drive mode, etc.? Do the center control buttons still work? wheel/center volume?

All mmi controls work. You can easily switch to the the factory mmi menu. I’ve only scratched the surface of the capabilities. It displays rpm and speed. I saw someone else’s dashboard who had g-force and track data. It’s not connected to the obd plug, so I don’t know how it’s getting the rpm info.

It’s one of my favorite upgrades..and I think it’s reasonable at $589

Yes! It has chrome, google play, YouTube preloaded. I installed Netflix and prime video. It can run any android app. Here is video that sold me...

Absolutely no splicing. They supply harnesses that plug into existing wiring.
