    2020 S4 - No front tow hook?

I was hoping to install an offset license plate leveraging the front tow hook. When I removed the plastic cover - I only see the black energy absorbing material. No threads to screw in a tow hook. Has Audi removed the front tow hook? Any thoughts?

Interesting, did you check the cut out under the headlight to see if they moved it by chance?

Thanks for the reply. You mean the cutout for the tow hook? I don’t see another cutout.

I opened mine and see the same thing. I know that only helps to show that yours isn't a one off.

The manual for my 2021 only describes the rear towing loop.. The manual for my 2018 describes both the front and rear towing loop - so it does appear that they removed the front.

Then I wonder, how does a tow truck pull a car onto a flatbed without one??

Maybe with them being auto they might want you to lift it rather than roll it. There is one at the rear

Thanks Everyone. I even called my dealer and Audi USA. No one had a good answer. Odd to keep the cover/tab but eliminate the tow hook itself.

Yeah, thats kind of like it being odd that they removed the 2nd trunk light but left the hole there.

Might of kept the whole for rest of the world cars. As in some places it might be required to have both.

This is a pretty common thing amongst all car makers and was especially complained about a lot on forums of my old vehicle before I replaced it with the Audi.

The accepted answer and in no particular order is (a) cost savings especially for later model years/later production cycles, (b) vehicle/market regulations, and (c) factory opening for aftermarket installation of tow hook so you don't have to figure out a way to make an opening.

Thanks RickNY. Guess I’ll sell the tow hook license plate adapter I purchased.
