Lightbulb No wheel bolt cap removal tool? Try this

So I got this Sportback used from a. Dealer and apparently I don’t have the tools to remove the stock wheels. I do have a jack and spare and that’s it.

I found out that the little tool you get at home improvement stores to open paint cans works really well! If you’re careful you won’t scratch your wheels but if you’re that worried you can apply some tape to it.

Just use some needle nose pliers. Been using those forever. Works better than the plastic tool they provide.

I tried that too but the pliers I had couldn’t get the job done. Too small I guess?

Hmm so if the nose of the pliers are long enough then all you have to do is lightly grip/clamp the bolt covers and wiggle them while pulling. The key is wiggle. If you just tug, it will resist coming off.

Those are free at Home Depot Paint Dept. for taking the lid of of paint cans, and they do work well for the caps and (a cold beer afterwards)!

The real question is, where the f*** did I put my cap removal tool after the 1 time I used it? I can't find the damn thing anywhere and I'm anal as hell about keeping my tools stored properly.
