Looks pretty nice here in that setup. Looking forward to seeing the S/RS, and how it compares, since this actually looks fairly sporty from the get go (though I imagine this is more of a loaded spec).

Who keeps asking for these gigantic grills and fake vents with today’s cars?

they can't think of much else to do aside from copy downstream brands who stole their designers

All I see here is a saturated market of off-lease 8Vs 6 months from now. I certainly can't complain :)

Great pictures, and a great color... Really starting to grow on me, but my next car (if ever) will probably be a used eTron GT

PS, hey "Cap"... what are the odds? in the same 'hood. Over here on Frisco SW side, nobody drives something as cheap as an 8V besides me lol.

Is the antenna fin color matched on the current A3?
The pics of the red 2021 appear to show a black colored fin.

I like the wideness of the fenders, but everything else is okay. The tail lights remind me of a VW (Jetta maybe? Don't know), too many fake vents, headlights look huge, the grill looks massive, and also saw some pics of the interior elsewhere and was not impressed. I'll stick with my 8v for the significant future.

Really not a huge fan of the direction Audi is going in design wise lately. BMW seems to be going down the same track as well.

The interior looks nice. Not a fan of the fake vents, especially the ones on the rear bumper. The car kinda already has RS styling with the huge grill and aggressive vents on the front, which I think is unfortunate. I'm curious what Audi will do to differentiate the RS model from the base model.

Man im right there with you. I feel like the designer of the Civic Si has some blackmail on the Audi designer. Not much im stoked on with this new design. Like...it would look great if they reduced the Lexus sized grill in the front, and just ditched the Civic Si Grill faux pas from the rear bumper....jeeez

I mis-took a new BMW yesterday for a Honda Accord. I seriously thought it was an accord until I saw the badge...then thought someone was trying to fake it as a BMW...then realized it was a BMW....bleh

Here is my argument: You want to keep your eyes on the road...and you can you use the feel of your fingers to twiddle buttons and knobs (A/C fan, etc) without having to look. Now that everything is touchscreen, you need to take your eyes off the road somewhat (or the learning curve is much higher anyway to memorize).

I'll stay analog on what matters for as long as I can.

I am not even slightly interested in selling my 8V for the new generation. The exterior is undeniably a step back. Who wants headlights the size of Texas?

i have to agree to many of your comments.

to add i would miss the mechanical shifter. its weird to have that gone, coming from a manual transmission as my first car.

i also hate hate hate the cup holder in that new location. in past cars, bottles would always hit my rested arm. its super annoying. i hate to use that as a requirement but its a deterrent to buying this car for sure.

also did i see in the video, some front wheel spin? before the slow catching up rear wheels began to work.

Just moved here from New York! I'm over by the Star and Legacy Hall regularly and my goodness....the display of wealth is INSANE. I've been looking for some good car meetups and it appears every one is postponed except the monthly "FueledUp" meet. Have you ever been?

The cupholder location below the center armrest is my biggest gripe with my B7, which they fixed for years, and are reverting for the MY2021...lmao

I will echo the touchscreen comments. I'm in my 20s, and for my phone... fine. I don't miss my blackberry with the added keyboard, I suppose. But for a car infotainment screen, I'll pass. Don't like needing to take my eyes off the road, nor the smudging of the screen. Also my fingers get all kinds of cuts and scrapes on them (to the point that I can't use touch ID on my iphone) that mess with the touchscreens and make it more of a headache.

I'll say the interior looks somewhat less... spartan than the 8V, if you prefer form over function. But I kinda liked that about the A3. If I wanted tech I'd be in an A6/7.

Also, that vent over the screen looks completely out of place to me, the rest seem sleeker. And I'd definitely miss the shift knob. I'm probably gonna stick with my 8V for a good while anyway, and will likely need something larger in some years time anyhow.

Once again, fantastic photography! The design direction that the entire Audi fleet is heading right now is a hideous one. No interest in anything other than the B9 RS4 Avant (which we won't be getting in USA). Yay!

Man Audi is going in the wrong direction styling wise.

Fake vents all over everything... An interior that will be fingerprint heaven and ugly to boot. Hard angels are not needed on every single thing on the dash... and I get Porsche is the end all be all of all things German but that little shifter thing is fucking hideous on a 911 never-mind an a3... its like a oversized clit sticking out the center console.

I work just down legacy, and am just a couple miles up legacy from there. There's a Fiskar Karma, Bentley's, Ferraris, Rolls etc in the neighborhood... Porsches are too common for folks here lol. The car meet ups seem to be a either ricer kiddies or rich boys looking for attention - neither is my scene. Couple race tracks around though which is where I tend to show up. Being walking distance from work, I really don't need to drive at all lol.
