    AWE Touring Exhaust Tip Clamps

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi all,

Will be doing a touring exhaust conversion soon from my track setup. My t-bolt clamps aren’t in the best shape and I’d like to replace them. Are these the same 2.25” clamps that can be used to secure the tips to the muffler section? I’d rather not spend $13 each on AWE’s website when I can find all 4 for $15 total.

    Thanks!

Just be careful, the t bolt clamps you have shown are not what AWE uses. The ones you show are more for hose or intake tubing. They are much thinner and not heavy duty enough IMO to use on exhaust parts. What grade stainless are these clamps? AWE uses 304 Accuseal clamps. You get what you pay for. I would not trust these clamps on my exhaust. You don’t need to get them from AWE, just get quality ones. You don’t want to lose a set of $300 tips on the freeway.

Just curious, what would make them not durable enough to use on exhausts? Would they melt, come loose, etc? I believe that AWE does use quality parts, but I see nothing on the website that says the clamps are 304 steel (unless I’m missing something)

Regardless, would something such as this be more durable then?

That’s interesting. I must have an older exhaust. I don’t have those on my tips or they were replace before I got the car. Mine are the ones that are used for the connections for the downpipes and mid pipes. 2.5” Accuseal. They are stamped 304t on them. My mistake. Obviously a 304 or 316 would be substantially more corrosion resistant.

Yeah, I’m not too sure but I just think it’s crazy to pay $13 for one exhaust clamp. I may take the gamble on the first ones I sent. I totally agree with the notion you get what you pay for but I’ll keep a look out over time to see how they hold up. I am mainly just concerned with fitment over all else.

I would definitely grab ones that are made of 304 stainless, but don’t overthink too much past that. These clamps are basically all the same shit and AWE is raking you over the coals at $13 per lol.
