    2011 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro N80/EVAP Purge Valve Install

    Hello!
I was doing some maintenance research and saw some posts recommending that you change your PCV and Evap Purge Valve (N80). While the PCV doesn't seem hard to change, I can't find any info on how to change out the N80 valve. Any (detailed) help would be great!

I just recently hit 70,000 miles so I'd like to do as much of the preventative maintenance myself :)

The Purge Valve I'll be getting: https://www.europaparts.com/purge-valve-037906283c.html

I have attached pictures of what I believe is the N80 valve but for some reason it looks different than the part I linked that Europarts has...

Thank you so much! I love this communityCar Pic 2.jpgCar Pic 1.jpg

If you see this, help teach me how to work on my own car. I know I can do it.

I also might ask a lot of questions. But it's only because I'm curious and want to make sure

We have a specific part number for an N80 purge valve, that's what you should be buying. Currently 06H133781CK, previously 06H133781AL and 06H133781CB.

    new - https://www.genuineaudiparts.com/oem...se-06h133781ck
The newer design without the double bellows makes it a lot easier to deal with.

You'll also need another clip since they used the one-time clip on the tube on the N80 for whatever reason. Clip is:

I don't see a point in replacing the N80 unless you have some data driven reason to do so. Is it excessively noisy? Have you pulled the line set and tested to see if it's not sealing? Do you have an EVAP related DTC or a fuel trim issue?

You can get it off without dismounting the intake manifold, but you'll have to loose then high pressure fuel line at the HPFP to work it out.

If you intend to just cut the N80 out of the line set and that you can reseal the line set back to a replacement N80, the N80 in your pic has a part number right on it. But you're just making a future problem for yourself that way.

Thank you for this! I haven't had any issues but a little bit of that annoying noise everyone complains about with this engine. I'm just trying to get ahead of any preventative stuff that may come up in the future.

What about the PCV? any reason to change that out soon even if I'm not having any issues?

That's a loaded question to which there are many opinions. If you seem to be burning oil at a higher than desired rate, it's a possibly involved component.

At this point, my opinion is leave it alone unless there's an issue you are specifically chasing where it might be involved. Or check your block vacuum and if it's not 2-3 inHg, it's a very likely suspect. Of course, that assumes your intake manifold vacuum is correct in the first place, ~18-22 inHg. This seems to be the only data driven proactive consideration for replacing what is otherwise an appears working PCV. Here's the thread: https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...RANCASE-VACUUM

Also, make note if you have a black cap or white cap PCV. If you do come to replacing it for whatever reason, use the one of the same color.
