Best looking wheels for Daytona grey

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey all. I’m trying to pull the trigger on some wheels and I came down to 2:
    the Vossen hf 5:
    https://www.urotuning.com/products/v...SABEgKLevD_BwE

    And ABT gr20:
    https://www.urotuning.com/products/a...31725443743799

I couldn’t find photos of Daytona grey. Lots of nardo grey out there. Something about the design of Vossen wheels look sick... but the abt looks clean like the oem Audi sport wheels. Opinions? Trying to prevent regret on choosing the wrong ones haha.

If you are concerned about ride, handling and tire cost more than looks, you might wish to consider the 19" versions.

Agreed, but I think 19" looks better too.

Thanks for the replies. I was considering 19s from what people were saying, but the 20s just look good in my opinion. I have a 1 mile work commute on nicely paved roads so not too much of a concern.

Best looking wheels for Daytona grey

I have some matte black wheels on a Daytona ttrs.

    IMG_3326.JPG

Next wheel set will be the same design as your Vossens but in matte bronze (because black was sold out). these are my wheels being held up on another car. they haven’t been fitted yet so not sure if I’ll like the bronze on daytona look yet.

As to color, I really like the matte black because it it hides the brake dust. I think silver (clean) would look better with Daytona Gray than the bronze but both require more cleaning than black.

Not a fan of the silver lip design on the ABTs, the Vossen's are similar to the Neuspeeds I have so obviously I like them better.

I would also recommend going for the textured bronze not the black color. Firstly because everyone runs black wheels, and second the bronze will still hide some dust but give some color offset and variation that will make it stand out.

This in matte Daytona not gloss, but still. It's a subtle color, still dark so not flashy like a gold or bright silver, but not a featureless dark like the black.

Thanks cantcatchtomm. Thumper, that bronze actually looks really good.

btw, are there any issues with running +32 offset 20mm more than oem.

I have a Daytona also and I’m heavily leaning towards the silver APR flow form wheels in 19”. I have always said I wanted copper or bronze wheels but I have copper powder coated 6 piston calipers under silver 22” wheels on my Touareg, and it’s like just enough. Good thread to follow.

20" rotiform not my favorite but came on the car.

2nd pic is 034 wheels. They match so darn good and leave room for more meaty look. I like more tire vs low pro tireFB_IMG_1596609859515.jpeg20200720_202553.jpeg

I love the 034 wheels. I think they look killer on it. And they are 18" which is a bit cheap on tires. 20200717_165310.jpeg20200714_202521.jpeg

Thanks for all the suggestions. The gunmetal color actually looks sick... decisions decisions... quick question, will a 32 offset work on our cars? I emailed a wheel shop and they said 35-45 was recommended on this car.

I am liking the HRE FF01’s in matte black. Like was said before brake dust doesn’t show. Also fwiw had them ceramic coated along with car and they are super easy to wash.

+1 to this, I need to do this to mine especially now that I am running track pads lol I was going to do it myself but I need a refresh on the ceramic on the entire car anyway so might just see what they will charge to do the wheels too.

I like the GR20, and it looks like they have an all black option (without the silver ring) but they weigh 29lbs. That’s heavier than stock, going to have to pass on those.

    • 5 x 112
    • 5 x 114.3
    • 5 x 120
    • 5 x 130

    Typo perhaps?

I’m putting on the Enkei PF05 is dark painted silver, I’ll let you know if it’s a color match when they come in. I didn’t want black and wanted something other than the bright silver that came stock (which looks great w/ the other trim pieces)

Quite serious. I actually do race the car and that wing is actually proven to make my car turn pretty dang good.

Though I like the 20” OEM’s bright silver finish and how it highlights the other trim, the ‘dark silver’ finish here offers nice seasonal variety and pairs great with the Daytona grey (wanted something more eye catching than black). It does have more of a metallic quality and behaves differently in sun v. shade (re: two shots). I love a classic 5-spoke and feel the curves compliment the car: 17 TTS (new winter setup)

    Enkei PF-05 (19”x8.5” +38mm)
    w/ Micheline Alpine 4A (245/35ZR19/XL 93Y).
