Rear right door won’t open from inside or outside - HELP!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have this weird issue with my 2010 A4. The door would stay locked from the outside even when I unlocked it with the key. I would always have to go and open it from the inside. I also have this same issue with the passenger right door so it must be something electrical.

Me, with my heroic instincts, decided to turn on the child lock and now the door can not open from the inside OR outside. Is there anyway to reverse this?

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Yeah, that was a bad idea.

Don't know how it played out for him. No one else chimed in so guessing there's not an obvious approach that we missed.

There is a rubber cap next to the child lock remove the cap and rotate that just like you did for the child lock see if that does anything.
I had issues with both my rear doors one would not open from inside and the other from outside.
All that time i had to do the trick with the lock behind the rubber cap in order to make my car chirp the immobiliser and lock the car.
That did the work for me until I eventually got tired of that and changed both of them.

Sounds like it could be a rear door latch actuator. Can you scan for codes?

This is slightly outside of my scope / experience and I can’t add a ton of value.

the only repair I’m aware of involves cutting the door card...

Made the comment thinking the door can still open...realised your door is stuck closed.

Hey man, i had a similar problem and not having the door open was scary lmao. What i did is i used this video as a reference https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCwqOAHgcCg and i just rolled the window down and took out 4/5 of the the torx screws (minus the one at the very bottom), used a trim tool to pop out the top part of the door panel, and saw that the only problem was the latch hook had come off. My advice is to get the door panel open as much as you can and hopefully the only problem is the latch being disconnected. Hope any of this helped!

    I fixed it guys!
I had to remove the rear bench and door panel, then pull the door handle wire. I then undid the child lock. My doors still won’t lock. Only the driver door. Codes come up for all three doors. Still seeking out what the main issue is.

    Thanks for all your help!
