With Ruthenium they last about 100K miles (supposedly what they say on the website).
I wanted to check them out. On Rock Auto they was like 7 bucks a plug IIRC. Factory plugs for our car only last half of that.

what he said^. I read on a few other forums stuff like idle and fuel mileage were improved slightly etc etc. But they're relatively new still.

Did you end up getting these? If so, how's your experience with them so far?

The only advantage of a ruthenium/iridium plug is the hardness and temperature tolerance of the electrode material - meaning the plug will last longer.

You won't see improved MPG or more power - the plug head design is identical to other ("copper" or platinum) spark plugs, so flame front/propagation will be identical. What you're feeling is either a placebo effect or your old spark plugs were badly worn.

Iridium plugs are fine for this application. The plugs are easy to change on these cars and iridium plugs last a very, very long time. The ceramic insulator will probably crack before you get to the claimed 100k life of these ruthenium plugs, to be honest.

The ruthenium ones are cheaper than iridium on RockAuto, I think that's the appeal here. As long as they're not worse than iridium makes sense to get em.

They aren't though. All 3 iridium options ($3.07/ea, $4.08/ea, $5.06/ea) are cheaper than the $7.81/ea ruthenium plugs.

Oops, not iridium, was looking at the two NGK's PFR7WTG (platinum) vs. FR7BHXS (ruthenium).
