    285/30/20 tires vs 275/30/20

Has anyone elected to run 285/30/20 tires on the RS5 vs 275/30/20? What are your thoughts, has it improved the ride comfort and how do they look once mounted? I am just curious what others have done if you keep the stock wheels .

I have been running 285/30/20 Pilot S4s for 3 years. Their traction is really great in the wet and dry. The 285s look aggressive.

@JaySline I'm in the same boat. I just purchased new wheels, AG M580 20x10 for my 14 RS5 and I am leaning towards Michelin PS4S 285/30 because I don't want the stretched look on a 10" wide wheel.

@ffearless What size wheels do you have? What is the offset front and rear? Are you running any spacers with the wheels?

They are 20 x 10 et25. I'm not running spacers. I have adjustable upper control arms and the top of my tires are pushed out. I have no room to move out more without rubbing.

Interesting. I order a set of AG M580 wheels, 20x10 with ET22 front and ET26 rear. The front ET22 was required to clear the calipers and will push the wheels 3mm out more than yours, but I don't have adjustable upper control arms. With the front ET22 and the 285/30 I hope the tire is not pushed out farther than the fender.

This is a pic of an RS5 with the AG M580 and ET22.

Are the Avant Garde Wheels machined to the center bore of the RS5? Meaning no use of hub centric rings to mount the wheels?

For reference, I'm running the PS4S in a 285/30/20 on a 20x10 ET25 lowered on KW HAS. Moving from a 275 to 285 required me to remove the top clip/screw holding the inner guard lining as it was just touching over certain road conditions. It's perfect now and no adverse impact (noises, rattles, etc) from removing the clip.

I called AG to ask about the M580 and centric hub. For the RS5 and these specific wheels, a hub centric ring is not needed. The wheels are hub centric with the correct bore size for the RS5 at 66.6mm.

I don't want to hijack this thread from the OP and make it about my RS5. I have another thread running on AZ https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...eering-Problem where I was addressing a steering problem and will be posting pics once the wheels are on the car.
