Well since I sold the B6 Avant we needed another long roof so we went ahead and bought a 2014 Allroad with 130kkm. It has the Premium Plus package, Progressiv and Sport Package (New to B8s so let me know if Im mistaking on the packages)

Missing the rear view camera and blind spot warning but those who know me know that wont stop me from having those options :P

    Picture from the PO:

First thing needed was a wash, PO probably brought it through the woods to reach rivers more than once since hes a canoe guy. So much sand came out of everywhere.

Second thing I did was remove the regular flat bottom and install the one I had in my B6:

Mind you I got the car yesterday at 5pm.

What I have coming for it right now:

    - Aluminium Pedal Set
    - R8 Oil / Coolant Caps
    - RS4 Style Spoiler

Plans for it, lower it, swap a 3.0T with a Shiftronic transmission, SC pulley and an OEM+ Mapping. (Racing Line mapping, which IMO make the best mapping for these engines) And I need to find a set of Q5 Brembos, sold all the ones I had.

Looking into Bilstein B8s coupled with H&R Sport springs for Sedans since I read the Allroad spring will give rake which I dont want. Dont hesitate to give me input on this matter since the info online is mixed.

Untill I find a good donor Ill do the upper chain, upper guides and 3 tensioners. And Ill put it on lift Monday just to confirm if the rear main is leaking, pretty sure it is and if so Ill put an Iabed rear main there. Also, flush the oil, remove that Napa filter asap and install a front brake pad warning sensor.
Wagons are made to haul things, mine is made to haul ass

Nice to see you in the Allroad camp sir!
This will be good. I know it already!

May I suggest you install some sort of racing steering wheel column coupling? It would save you like 3 mins every day during your steering wheel swap routine.

Why are you replacing the timing chains right away? Have you checked the cam phase adaptation values yet? Or is there other concern? Just curious as 2014, I thought, should be OKish for that.

Also, if you can, please share your RS4 style spoiler source. I am hoping to add one too.

The all black cladding looks pretty good and I'm tempted to paint mine down the road.

    Looking forward to the progress!

Ty for the welcome Eljay :)

Even if it has the revised chain guide the chain is still the single link chain and they stretch. Since I run an Euro Indy shop Ive seen my share of failures even on B8.5s. Ill do it as preventive maintenance if, once the cover is lifted, the upper tensioner is close to maximum operation. If not, Ill wait.

Theyre listed on Ebay, from what Ive read, they fit pretty well. Ill dig the link and post it.

Car had the color matched overfenders from factory, now Ill wrap the chrome on the side skirts.

H&R sport springs should sit good after the 3.0t swap is done. I have the same springs in my avant and it was tucking in the rear and had gap in the front when it was still 2.0t. It is pretty even now with the added weight from the 3.0t

Well as I suspected because of the fuel pressure too low during cold start and fuel rail/system pressure too high codes my upper chain was stretched

    Images will speak for me:

Also changed the fuel pump chain tensioner because it had a little score in it and its 10$ for a Genuine one.

So now it drives well and since I had the tuner here to do another car I flashed it, tad less boring for now. Stage I makes 262/316 not bad.

The OEM+ Stage II on the 3.0T will make 446/435 which makes more sense.

    Wow! That is some stretch.
OK, so you had some codes that led you to check, correct?
Any chance you looked at the cam phase adaptation value before the replacement?
I'm curious what that showed with this physical evidence?

congrats for this project, youve been talking about it since a while now. !

starting to think about a swap, 3.0t or 2.7tt. Slow process I guess, Ive done the 1st step which is to buy a DD while working on the B7.

Found a sweet 6mt sport pack bmw e91. I like it, since rwd and awd can be triggered with a app, and n54 swap engine are more capable than the 3.0t..

Are you guyz able to work on n54 or audi engine only ?

Also used the occasion to replace the front strut mounts with Lemfoerder's and rear mounts with Rein's. Both are the oem supplier. Also, put anti-rust on the inner strut towers while I was there.

67cm/67cm ftg. Its pretty even. Im scared I might have to fab a spring spacer for the front once a 3.0T sits in there. I assume yours sat different since its a B8.

Exactly like my 2 ex B6s and my B7 with the same setup. It wasnt hard to convince me to go with that setup haha Its the best combo imo. Not cheap though

To answer a previous question : as soon as youre close to -4.5 / -5 you replace. -6 is late and -7 is BooM

Well, -1.8/-2.0 and a stuck Toe bolt in the back. I'll live with the front camber but I'll lower the rear sub frame again to get that toe bolt to move. To close to the fuel tank for heat without lowering the subframe.

    That's not too bad.
That will probably cut the life of those control arms a bit, correct?

Are the HR springs about 1.5" lower than standard B8 Avant suspension?
In other words, would a standard Avant S-Line suspension would keep the control arms in reasonable OEM-like camber range?

Replaced the rear driver eccentric toe bolt, washer and locking nut. Alignment is now on point.

Had the car wet sanded, compounded, polished and glass coated.

Also bought a set of 320mm Q5 Brembos from a fellow Audizine member, Ill empty them and send them to powder coat. Will be gloss black with white Brembo decals.

And covid is killing the auctions, bidded 5K on a 2014 S4 that had deployed airbags and a good front passenger hit, it sold for 8.5K...

    That looks sharp!
    How was the fitment?
Can you share a link to where you bought it? They are probably all coming from the same factory, but if the fitment is close enough, it may be easier to buy based on your reference.

Fitment wasnt on point, needed sanding to fit it properly. It sits good now but not 100% perfect. Lets say 95% after some elbow grease

    Axiss B8.5 Allroad build thread

Replaced the front passenger bearing, installed C7 A6 windshield sprayers, an RS5 rear sway bar and emptied calipers which are now at the powder coat shop. Going with red calipers and white Brembo decals but Im still unsure.

Was either gloss black with white decals or silver with black decals or red with white decals. Always paired with black crossover lines. Thoughts?

    Came out great IMO

Received rebuild kits and pads. Just gotta order rotors, going with Brembos high carbon, and brake pad wear sensor at work.

Will install and do both ball joints at the same time.

Yeah, I assume they came from the south of the US, no oxydation at all so the finish came out smooth as an 18yo butt cheak

But I have these at work and I have to stop myself from sourcing Macan spindles

    Those came out great!

Regarding mats, I ordered a rear cargo mat and when it arrived I realized there are two versions and I got the crapier foam type one (ends in 160). :( I wonder if the dealer will take it back and exchange for the other one that's rubber (ending in 180).

I am thinking of getting Weathertech ones too as they do work much better.

I've had Weathertech for 3 years and it does the job pretty well. You can find slightly used ones for around half of retail price.
