My buddy Jose aka Junior co-owns one of the best and very VW/Audi tuner friendly shops in so cal. He just installed Eibach springs on my A7 last week.
    He owns a bad ass STG 3 B5 S4.
Yelp the shop and read reviews.

This probably depends on where in LA you are (Jim’s auto repair may be great, but I’m in westlake so not driving to Long Beach).

But either way, everything will be expensive ($100+/ hr). Ingolstadt west in the valley, eurocode in Torrance/South Bay. I purchased a set of used wheels from the owner of pacific German down in laguna - awesome shop and they were doing some major repairs to a couple cars (if I had an engine out or transmission out job I would consider them). I’m sure there are lots more.

Or if you have garage space, buy the tools to tackle simple projects yourself. Quickly pays for itself at $110/hr. Hope this helps.

Think of it as a Euro car tax and that sounds spot on to me. Pads rotors and springs for all for corners is going to take at least an hour and a half to 2 hours per corner and typically the lowest hourly is going to be at minimum $100 for a reputable shop. Is this your first time modding a car? Not being an ass, legitimately curious. Supreme Power in Fullerton is a good choice. Stay away from Pacific German if you want somebody who’s honest.

Agreed on the first part and funny on the second. They are very far from me and I have no knowledge other than the one experience. Good info / perspective!

no, i've had a stage 2 jaguar ftype before this and a stage 3 xfr, and a lexus so im pretty experienced when it comes to modding but the shop i used to do all of my work at closed. they used to charge about 350 for the lowering springs and about $200 for the pads and rotors all around

I still use Beastiale (Grigor) in Culver City - small shop but he’s great and an enthusiast as well. One thing to note tho is that if you bring in your own parts there is an additional charge for install.

Eurocode in Torrance does great work and specializes in Audis I take my car to them, even for warranty work.

I second Grigor at Bestiale. Small shop but will dedicate his hours to your car vs tryna do multiple at once

Maybe its just me, but $700 doesn't seem that unreasonable.

Right off the top, you'll need an alignment because of the spring install. a good alignment near me is $175-200

That leaves $525 left for install of springs and brakes (all around?)
any reputable shop near me (NY/tristate area) is $125/hr min.

A shop is probably charging 1 hour per axle for brake labor. maybe 1.5hrs total if they feel like being nice. thats 20-30 minutes per corner, which seems fair.
so deducting another $200-250 for the brake labor leaves you with $275-325 to install springs.....that's 2-3 hours, which is reasonable.

with that said, its reasons like this I like doing my own work.

The alignment isn’t included but it’s still a reasonable price because it’s a 6-8 hour job depending on the mechanic. Never worked on a Jaguar myself before, but I doubt it’d be much, if any, quicker to complete. Like you said $125/hr minimum; multiply that by 6 and that’s $750 right there. He was essentially getting family and friends pricing. +1 for doing it yourself.

I forgot to clarify myself when I said the $700, that was the price for brakes only, but anyway I ended up getting everything installed for a reasonable price
