Today i found out that mu brake hose plate holder is hanging free because the bolt that scures it is gone.

It is a 10mm bolt that secures the Brake hose holder plate into the shock knuckle.

Anyone have the part number or equivalent reference?

    Much appreciated

Here is a picture i took from the other side of the car.

Finally mounted the new tires and installed the wheels. I also replaced the ugly, rusted front rotors since the new wheels show off the hubs more.

Not even sure how to put this into words. Early this year I purchased a spare head to port, new DCT stage 3 DSG clutch, then a spare block to build. It all started to come together a few months ago and finally got to a point of swapping the new built engine into the car. Did 90% of the work myself aside from having the head inspected and a little extra work done. Ran break-in oil for the first 200+ miles that I just swapped out tonight for more break-in oil. So far so good, slowly ramping up the load then hope to give it full send.

Looks like a very cool project. I'd love to build a motor one day.

Completed a magride delete in favor of Bilstein B8's and a 034 front sway bar upgrade. What a pain in the neck. The front sway bar swap was amongst the worst projects I've done yet. I basically had to remove the front subframe since the brackets on the old sway bar won't let you snake it out. On the positive side I picked up a 3/8 and 1/2 compact impact guns which made removing most of the hardware so much better. The car handles so much better now. The magride is frankly garbage, or mine was worn out, either way the car feels so much smoother and better and even more flat with the matching front 034 sway bar. The car came with 034 dynamic springs and it's also paired with the 034 dogbone, guess it's a 034 catalog car in the making.

Oil change and started to wrap my window trim in gloss black vinyl. Over all pretty simple job, we will see how well it holds up otherwise I might bite the bullet and get some oem black trim. I see if you order from EU its about half the price of the US.

Awesome to hear, I also used 3m but in gloss, its not my first time wrapping things but with the harsh MN winters you never know how it will hold up, I have one door left to do then Ill throw some pictures up. I planned on finishing up this morning but on my way to run some errands I got a check coolant light, then some smoke/steam, got the car towed back home to find that I blew a hose off. I am sure it wasnt fully secure when I was replacing the water pump but it took a while to trace it and then resolve the issue.

now back to the regular scheduled programming

Since I just completed this exact Magride delete I'll jump in. I feel it's how the car should have come. B8's are such a good non coilover solution. They ride smooth and soak up bumps well and paired with good springs really let you toss it around in the corners. I had the same setup on a previous 335i that I had and it was great on that car too. There are some sections where road conditions are awful around me and nothing can help with utterly trash roads but overall I am very happy with the upgrade and would recommend it for a daily/great handling daily setup.

Installed Bilstein B12 cup kit - B8s with Eibach springs
    Euro-Sport upper strut mounts
TyrolSport front deadset kit (with braces)
TTRS front lower control arm bushings
    iSweep mag ride cancelers
    034 RCO ball joints
    034 Rear sway bar
Kumho East V730s on a pair of spare VMR wheels

Lowered the front 1/4" and the rear 3/4" and the ride quality is great.

    2.9* camber up front

Yup, couldn't have put it better myself. I've run B8's now on my S3, a GTI w/VWR springs and a Mazda Speed6 w/Corksport springs.

Which brands did you go for? Any spec? Errors or warnings for removing the MAG rige?

Got a ‘24 RS3 8Y and I’m browsing (I know that they might not have the same spec, but is a start)

Look forward to see how your cars evolve

I got mine from the Asian Garage. They fit 8Y as well. They cost much less than Isweep or KW

Replaced the 7yr old xenon headlight bulbs in the S3 today as they were starting to lose their funk. Super easy. Pop the wheel off, remove wheel well liner and swap out the bulb. Only pain in the ass is those stupid retainer clips lol.

I added a T25 socket to the engine compartment. Still has a nice stock look, though. You can hardly tell it's there. But it's there, down below...somewhere
Oh, and I also put in an AFE dry air filter

LMAO I wish I knew where it went. It fell and I heard that "tink, think, tink" down into the mess of plastic and hoses. Hopefully resting comfortably on the belly pan

Started to remove the belly pan and I happened to look up and see my socket resting comfortably. I was able to reach in from the back and grab it.

The Asian Garage. Not a single error when activating any drive mode. I paid like 260 shipped or something like that. I also forgot to mention that the FCP Euro kit comes with 034 strut bearings and 034 top hats for the shocks in the rear.

I would love to have a DAZA car but the money those things cost don't fit in my salary range even used. I could build a nasty EA888 in my garage and be ok, DAZA money is for the next level folks who really have money. The S3 is about the limit for me, at least its a very capable and attainable dream car that I get to daily and it makes me smile when I launch it so I'm not upset in the least.

Little maintenance on the S3 in preparation for an upcoming autocross event. OEM RS3 coils, NGK Racing 4905 plugs, OEM BL aka B9 aka Mk8 PCV, OEM oil cap, OEM evap valve, RBF600 brake fluid flush. Interesting to see the differences between the BM and BL PCVs..

That time of the year again. Engine Oil & filter change, Haldex Service fluid change and since I was there, took care of the Rear diff oil also.

Engine Oil change is always a pain with the Racingline oil cooler. Even when you drain all the oil the filter is always full of oil making a mess when you open it up. And there's always 1L of oil left in the Oil cooler and the lines. The easiest solution is to disconnect one of the An lines and use a pump to suck the oil. And nowhere in the racingline pdf install or info about their engine oil cooler tells you about this when doing Oil change.IMG_20231114_125138.jpg

This was long overdue, Got the Racingline Stage 2, 310mm x 22mm rear rotors, performance rear pads RP700 and the rear brake lines. I already have a Racingline BBK in the front. Finally the car brake rotor matches all 4wheels.IMG_20231129_173823.jpgIMG_20231130_225847.jpg

Did you just do a direct swap/replacement? Or did you "re-plumb" it like the MK8

Swapped over to the APR DTR6054 turbo over the weekend (shout out Eurocode, as always). Today I swapped out the APR closed intake for the open air intake for no other reason than to hear that new turbo a bit more, and it did not disappoint.

Installed OEM RS3 door cards, my new A3 didnt come with B&O which I am sad about after having it in my first A3.

I am going to be doing the retro fit to add it, so door cards were needed anyways.

Next on the list is to refresh my Brembos, going to go with a Audi silver and black logos.

Got an APR Throttle Booster for Christmas and installed it earlier. Pretty neat. Easy install. Tried out the different installed maps and adds a nice pep to the throttle. Actually really like the 80% eco mode for when someone else drives my car or for valet.

Think I’m done with goodies for a while. APR engine cover to match the intake. Sister wanted to help and she snapped one of the mount bolts, but 3 out of 4 holding it on ain’t bad.

Ha! Yeah, she’s visiting for the week from back east and I considered it good bonding time. I’ll worry about how to get the damn bolt out in 2024.
