Is it good to install wheel spacers on Audi A4 B8? what are the safety risks?

The most mentioned in the car modification is the installation of wheel spacers. The installation of wheel spacers not only makes the car look fuller, but also greatly improves the stability of the vehicle.

The hidden danger is that if the wheel spacer screws are loose and broken, the wheels will fall off. The probability is very low, and the old driver can feel the wheels swing after the screws are loose, and stopping in time can avoid accidents. However, the installation of poor quality wheel spacers is more harmful, for example, the screws are not loose and broken, but the flanges are broken due to insufficient strength! At this time, the wheels must be flying out, and the vehicle is in danger of getting out of control.

The purpose of wheel spacer mounting is to increase the wheelbase of the car, or replace the wheel hub you like through the adapter wheel spacer. The biggest benefit of the increased wheelbase of the car is increased stability and better handling. It can solve the problems of vehicle roll drift caused by high-speed driving and cornering. The car runs more smoothly and the comfort is improved.

You get what you pay for. If you are running 80mm spacers from eBay that are one size fits all, yeah you are running into issues. I have the ECS Flush kit for my b8.5 and it looks great.IMG_20200529_111903.jpeg

Would it be better to use good quality wheel spacers?

Keep the car stock. You probably won’t have it for long.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Tx

I've been running 2" spacers on my VehiCROSS for the past 10 years. I've replaced them once during that time, not b/c they looked bad, but for peace of mind. In that time I've put roughly 100k miles on the truck, including numerous offroading expeditions. Ran a 5mm (rear) and 12 mm (front) on my old M3 for 7+ years with a stud conversion kit. No issues with that, either.

The other option is to get, yunno, the correct offset to negate need of spacers and still get that flush look.

All I see on my end is "1 ignored post" , since I blocked this troll, but I can see the replies members give on the thread. I took the advice from one member on here a few weeks ago. I'm assuming he posted some rhetorical bs.

    what do you mean screws??

im running 10mil hubcentric spacers on each corner, they are held in place by the the actual wheel/lug bolts, not some flimsy screws like the brake rotor set screw

Ultimately this person is correct. Wheels are the answer but are also much more expensive. My car came with refinished stock 19"s and I intend to keep them as summers and thus the spacers will stay. But on my old car I decided to just forego the spacer kit and buy a set of summer wheels with the width/offset that got me the fitment I was looking for.
