The 10Y/120K is from in service date but there's also the 4/48K from fix date. https://audidiesellookup.com/ Which ever of these date ranges is later is what they should be honoring for the engine and emissions system. It would probably be considered like a new vehicle warranty on the engine and emissions system so a major issue with these systems would likely need a scan and they wouldn't care if it was you or the person before you that modified the ECU, warranty claim would probably be denied.

Yeah, thats whats stopping me as well. And its killing me because Im only at 28k miles. Kudos to you guys for doing it though. I dont think Ill buy a car with a warranty after this one lol.

And about the biTDI.....sure it might make more power. But for one, its cheaper to upgrade one turbo than 2. And two, I like the feeling of 1 big turbo, its much more fun. Id imagine the biTDI just feels like a NA vehicle. 400hp/600lbs of torque is pretty easy with just a turbo swap and fuel mods. I feel like that would be sufficient for the street and also keep it reliable.

Update: Just got the 034 Motorsport bushing stiffening kit in the mail today. Will install it in the next several days. Looks extremely straightforward.

Now that it's gotten colder here in the Mid-Atlantic, I need to investigate that remote start.

Look, I said colder, not cold or absurdly cold. I don't do that -30 stuff y'all do.

Today was nice weather to put these in. Marked improvement! All that slop I was starting to feel--gone! Puts power down immediately, like it should. Might be SLIGHT increase in NVH, but I'm not even sure. Makes that rear sway bar a bit more tempting

That said, I can't shake this feeling it's been handling slightly off these last couple days, before even doing this. I am supposed to hit the road Wednesday for Thanksgiving, so will see about getting it checked out before then.

Get sways man, totally worth it. Just did 2400 mile road trip in the TDI after doing suspension updates. Was a great driving feel.

Yeah they were great on my A4 and Allroad. Held off for the time being b/c when I was ordering, they wouldn't ship until December. Still on the list though.

Anyway, I was always interested in the 3.0 TDIs. Previous to this, had a B7 A4 that was totaled in 2016, and a 2003 Allroad (needed TLC). So after buying my house in 2018, I found a good opportunity to purchase a low mile and reliable car. I debated between this and a Golf TDI, but went with the A6 because the aesthetics, comfort, extra room, and Audi. The car in question was a 2016 A6 TDI Prestige in Tornado Gray, with ~30500 miles on it. Car was loaded except for B&O, night vision, and massaging seats.

All I had were pics to go off and what I could discuss with the staff. They gave me the rundown on the car and were easy to work with. So I pulled the trigger…. And then waited. I had to wait ~2 more weeks to get the car after purchasing it, since I was on travel and the dealer had issues with shippers.

    - - - Updated - - -

Absolutely loved the car from the start. The mod bug was starting to itch, but before that, I needed to get through Maryland’s State Safety Inspection. This inspection is pretty thorough, and I wound up failing due to a small chip in the windshield that had been filled. I never noticed until it was pointed it out. Thankfully the dealer I just purchased from completed this free to me. All in the nick of time, as my temp tags were running out and I was about to depart on a 2+ week vacation overseas.

First thing was to have ceramic tint applied. 30% all around, and 50% on the windshield. Just having that extra coverage does wonders in summer! The car cools down so quickly compared to without! Plus looks good and offers a bit more security. If I put the rear shades up, you really cannot see what I have in the back at all.

Late summer 2018, I noticed the tires (Toyo Proxes 4X Plus) were starting to squirm under heavier rain and wet mornings on some turns. Then I got a flat in one of them taking someone home from a wedding, so screw it—time to upgrade!

    [IMG] https://images2.imgbox.com/f1/ca/qb8pyk6W_o.jpg{/IMG]

Swapped the Toyos for Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires. They grip so much better. Enough so I lost about 2-3 mpg doing that alone! However, totally worth it for the drivability increase, especially since I normally drive spiritedly. Not super worried about having a dedicated winter tire, since Maryland winters vary considerably, and I have the option to telework in bad weather. Winter 2019 got cold (~0 F at the coldest), but not much in the way of snow. 2020 wasn’t winter at all.

Winter 2019 came and went (along with destroy 2 wheels and tires on one of Maryland’s terrible potholes). Front one actually cracked to the valve stem, and the rear one was no longer round. Got those replaced and was good a few days later. This pothole is not as bad as the one I actually hit.

    - - - Updated - - -

A bit before the pothole, I purchased a set of S8 calipers (F&R) from a member on here and was told they would all be direct bolt-on, including the rears. (Narrator: They weren’t)

I sat on the brakes for a while, about June last year, I found Brake Performance finally offered S6 front discs. Sign me up! I had Brake Performance on my B7 for a time, so I trusted them. So I bought a F&R set with ceramic pads. Also got stainless lines from USP Motorsports. My rears were shot so I was excited to upgrade to the 356 mm rears!

    Finally time to install…

Nope! The S8 rear calipers do not fit. (The parking brake motor connector and brake line need to face the same direction; here they were opposite. Also, the S8 rear knuckle must be different, as they would not accommodate a 356mm disc anyway).

I had to scramble and got a set of OE sized coated discs from Advance Auto. Installed them with the original calipers and brake perf pads.

    Fitted stainless lines all around.

S8 fronts were a direct fit, and easily installed. I did reuse the clips from the old pads (razor bladed them off and stuck on new). Bleeding was significantly easier than 18Zs!

Quite beefy under those 20” wheels!

    - - - Updated - - -

Was looking into DPF Deletes for a while with Rawtek, Buzzken, and Darkside Developments. Rawtek’s kit is not direct bolt-on for the A6, and according to them, required some cutting and welding. Buzzken’s does fit, but I was not a fan of the 409 stainless they use (same as typical car exhaust) for their price.

Darkside offered a relatively inexpensive DPF delete in 316 stainless that was direct fit. So I ordered that and the EGR Blockoff kit. I think I got in 2-3 days after purchasing. The delete pipe was almost too nice to use! But about as soon as it arrived, I sent off to Jet-Hot to be ceramic coated. 15 days later, it came out beautiful! I chose the “Graphite” color, and it is good to 2500 F (1370 C). I’ve yet to see the EGTs get past 1200 F or so (650 C), but this is potentially future proofing.

    BEFORE:

    AFTER:

Time for install! I opted to have the DPF Delete, EGR Blockoff, and tune performed at RAI Motorsport in MD. I have been going to them for years and I trust them with my cars. RAI is also a Malone Dealer, so it was convenient to have one-stop shopping.

Install was not as smooth as I was hoping. Darkside included virtually no instructions, so I was going between them and RAI to make sure all is in the proper place. For example, the EGR Blockoff goes inline with the EGR pipe/tube, and is not two separate blockoff plates.

    [IMG]https://images2.imgbox.com/ee/bb/a1Xiaaqd_o.jpg[IMG]

The DPF delete… oh the delete pipe. The Stock DPF was easily removed. Here’s a comparison between the stock DPF and the delete pipe:

Immediately noticed one of the exhaust gaskets did not match, so that had to be purchased.

Then after mounting to the turbo, the delete pipe didn’t quite line up to the rest of the exhaust. Similarly, if mounting the to exhaust first—didn’t line up with the turbo. Plus the delete pipe only has 4 bungs vs the 6 on the stock pipe.

After a few days of back and forth, we got it figured out. The stock exhaust clamps underneath had to be loosened to allow that pipe the flexibility to rotate slightly, which then allowed it to perfectly mate. We also got Darkside’s notes on the delete pipe page, where two (2) of the six (6) sensors had to be removed/deleted. Great, installed!

For the tune, Malone took a bit to get back for tuning. They were not initially responsive to sending them my car’s stock file initially. After I had initially contacted them back in Feb 2019, it appeared the process was changed, and after resubmitting via the updated process, a tune was turned around a few hours later. Done!

I opted for Stage 2 with Deletes (DPF, AdBlue, EGR). After 9 months of driving on it, here are my impressions of the deletes and tune:

    Non-driving:
•The delete pipe is gorgeous and leaves so much more room in the engine bay!
•Temperatures are a lot cooler! Physically in the engine bay, it’s very noticeable. Ceramic coating doing its job. And on the EGT sensor, temperatures both rise and fall quickly, an indication the ceramic is doing its job, and the restriction is allowing the exhaust to cool itself down quickly.
oLost an EGT sensor (I think it was the DPF Temp sensor), but thankfully have the other.
•Noise is hard to say. I think it is quieter on idle but maybe slightly noisier when I’m on the pedal. Definitely not something I notice when I have music on.
•If I come to a stop, I sometimes get a diesel smell coming through the vents. Not much, and not that bad. Otherwise, it’s a matter of being up or downwind. If you keep the DPF, this will not be an issue. I may go high-flow DPF in the future.

    Driving:
    •NO SMOKE!!
•Bit more soot on the tailpipes.
•That laggy and hesitative feeling the TDI would have at lower speeds is gone. No more waiting for any kind of spooling or anything. The car moves as soon as my foot is on the throttle. Does not feel like it takes an effort.
•Definitely moves through lower speeds easier than before. I get more output for less throttle input than I did before.
•Haven’t gone WOT to see if it’s faster, but on a slight passing maneuver, I went from 70 mph to 95 mph before I knew it.
•Not 100% sure but I seem to be able to boost slightly higher. I managed 26 psi, whereas before I hit 23 psi.
•Revving in park/neutral is faster to 2500 rpm, but is still capped there.
•Starting the car cold feels the same. Restarting (stop/start) it feels like it turns over quicker than before.
•Warming up (coolant temp) takes longer. Deleting the EGR means none of that warm exhaust going into the intake. Plus the DPF was a huge heatsink, so less mass to warm everything up. Not a big deal since I don’t idle to warm up, and driving only takes slightly longer. Combined with the heated seats and steering wheel, I really don’t notice much.
•Improved mileage! I have driven about ~7000 miles (give or take) over the last 9 months. Where my normal commute to work was ~30 mpg, I now am usually seeing 32+ mpg. My last trip down that way for a badging appointment netted me 37 mpg. I rarely use ACC on my way to work. My commute home used to be ~32 mpg, and now I’m seeing closer to 38 mpg, so dramatic increase there. I use ACC more here, but there’s more traffic than on my way in. My previous max was 41.x mpg babying the hell out of it, and the new max is 44.5 mpg with less babying.

NOTE: All the above mpg on the DIS. I do other driving not shown there, which pulls me way down. Gas station calculations usually put me just above 30 mpg total per tank.

    - - - Updated - - -

Since then, I haven’t done much. Did my 55k service, replaced both engine mounts because passenger was leaking. Replaced another tire because a bubble (Stupid Maryland potholes!)

Future plans: I plan to lay for a bit. I have some house projects to work on (did floors over the winter; got a few shelving/closet projects going on right now; kitchen remodel isn’t too far in the future).

I may look into a TCU tune for the TDI—not sure if one exists, and if so, what can be done with the 8HP55. Otherwise, I will probably go for a Wagner Intercooler next. After that, debating on, a new rail sensor and CP4 update to increase rail pressure and flow, and get a remap. Shouldn’t take much to max out the current turbo. After that, probably new turbo and such. I’ll update this once I get some more.
Would you be able to make a video of the exhaust note with the dpf delete downpipe?

I'm thinking of delete as well and debating between just the dpf delete downpipe or straight pipe all the way through.

The YouTube videos with straight pipe 3.0 TDI are too loud for my liking. Wondering what it sounds like with just the dpf downpipe and everything else intact.

I may have some time this weekend to do that. Lot to do though, with the holiday. I apologize in advance that all I have is a terrible cell phone quality.

I can say it's slightly louder than it was stock (more noticeable in the cabin), but I don't think it really is from the exhaust tips

Also, did they need to pullup the engine to install the downpipe? My buddy is a German car mechanic and said I should buy engine mounts while we are at it, one of my mounts are bad. The downpipe looks small enough to slide right in.

I don't know the numbers and don't seem to have it recorded. Sorry. I'll definitely get it next time around since I'll need to swap the DPF back on to get that rear main seal taken care of.

They did not pull the engine up to my awareness. Once they undo the section at the firewall and pull out the old DPF, the delete pipe should right in. Again, my mechanic had to loosen the lower downpipe from underneath to rotate it to get everything able to line up.

I agree with your mechanic in that if they need to replace mounts, sounds like the perfect time to do that. I did both of mine at once since it saved a ton of labor.

Audibot, I've been following your thread since you started. I am actually at the point of ordering my DPF and EGR deletes. I actually just placed the order and quickly had to send a message due to the fact of ordering the wrong DPF delete pipe. Which one did you order DSD1246.1, DSD1246.11? I was not paying attention actually ordered the DSD6113.1 for the C7 A7. Hopefully they will get back to me before they ship. Really enjoy your build. Great write up. Was the ceramic coat worth it? Gonna contact them next.

Hey, sorry for the delay. I ordered DSD1246.11. I hope you get the right one!

Thanks for the compliment! I feel the ceramic coat was worth it to reduce underhood temperatures, which help lengthen the longevity of components. Was pretty inexpensive imho.

Audibot, what did you do with your NOX sensor? I purchased all the components from darkside prolly around the same time you purchased your stuff, but i'm only getting around to installing everything now. All I have to say is that removal of the DPF was a bitch!

Deleted. NOx and I believe the DPF temperature sensor are gone. My P3 reads -40 on that temp sensor.

Audibot, did you do anything with the SCR under the car when you put in the darkside pipe? Just trying to figure out my next round of upgrades. Thank you sir.

    Replied to your PM.

Didn't do anything with it. Everything left in the same place.

Haven't done anything with the car so far. Hurt myself working on the garage (metal building) interior so it becomes tolerable to be in. Hoping to get back to that soon.

    Hey, Long time no write.

I have a quick question that you people might be able to helpme with...

In similar fashion to Audibot's pothole incident, I had an incident with road debris (metal pipe) that stabbed the intercooler... (at least it wasn't the radiator) I've been able to make the car driveble by sealing the intercooler with a rubber spray, and the search for replacement started. I found this one:

    https://www.autospecialists.co.uk/pr...-tdi-bi-turbo/

But it says that it for the Biturbo TDi, by any chance anyone know if the USA TDI and the BiTurbo use the same intercooler? I really don't want to add lag by using too big an intercooler. I'm also not against using the OEM one, but if I can get something better(more thermally efficient) for the same price, I figured why not.

    Any help I appreciated!

My understanding is the biturbo TDI intercooler is a larger intercooler than the one we got in the USA. And should be plug and play.

Thanks for the quick reply..( I really should start wearing my glasses when posting... Too many typos!!! )

In any case, yes it should be plug and play, my concern is more on the air volume, if the intercooler is too big, it will increase turbo lag (larger internal intercooler volume to fill up). Do you have (or know where to find) the tech specs of the OEM one? So far I haven't been able to find many details.

Here's the aftermath of the incident....

A larger intercooler will introduce throttle lag: False

The amount of air your turbo actually flows in proportion to the size of an intercooler makes the size difference almost inconsequential. A 200hp car will flow roughly 20lb/min of air. That equates to 4.5 cubic feet per second. A large IE intercooler on the Mk7 is only ~0.512 cubic feet (90% larger than stock by the way), and that's not accounting for the fact that much of the larger core is fins. In addition, most larger intercoolers reduce pressure drop, meaning your turbo can actual spool more efficiently with an upgraded intercooler.

There are a few corner cases here that should be mentioned, such as front mount options which extend tubing, and twin-intercooler designs which combine a front mount and stock intercooler. If you still aren't convinced about throttle response not being issue, we recommend OEM replacement intercoolers as your best option.

No, some folks tried that logic on the OG Subarus too with the top mount intercoolers. The idea was to keep the top mount intercoolers for shorter throttled volume, should make more power and have better response, right?Guess what, the FMIC cars ended up being faster.

Been a while! This post has been a few months in the making. A lot has happened. Been working a bunch of my house and garage. Picked up a second car. Dropped a torque on my big toe (ouch!). Had to replace my central air unit. My old cat passed away. And I just lost my Dad a few weeks back to extremely sudden (to us) Stage 4 cancer. Life’s been up and down…

    But onto car-related things…

First, I had decided in 2020 that 2021 would be the year I could work in the garage during the winter and summer. My garage is a detached metal building. Zero insulation, and gaps in the metal siding all around. I was tired of all the bugs/spiders that would sneak in, and temperature extremes.

Last summer and fall, I got to work on (what I now know) one final project with my Dad, as we went to work starting to get the garage interior prepped. In two sessions roughly 2 months apart, we framed and wired. Wiring from the house to the garage was upped to 240 V, 100 A, but the house is still also 100 A (future work). Garage now has two 240 V circuits, one of which I can dedicate to an EV charger.

In late October, I cleared out everything for spray foam. 2" on the walls and 3" on the ceiling. I went with spray foam for the superior insulation capabilities and that it seals all the perimeter gaps. Also had them spray an area in the house for a small extra. They knocked it out quick and it was a noticeable difference immediately. For reference, I've been out a few times in 40 F weather in a hoodie, and after a few minutes moving around, I had to take it off and was just in short sleeves. And in 80 degree heat, it was comfortably hovering around 70. It’s not good enough in the 90 degree heat (yet).

Next, the floor was epoxy coated in early November. All cracks were filled (quite a few long ones; minor additional fee), and threw down 5 layers. After a week I finally moved things back in. This is when the torque converter fell on my toe. Not fun.

After this was a Christmas gift to myself in the form of lights, tool chests, and cabinets. Finally have a place to put every tool and detailing supplies!

Eventual next steps here are horizontal crossmembers between the studs, drywall, paint, and install a ductless mini-split.

Back in early September, I finally got the chance to buy a car I have wanted for years now. Picked up an 03 RS6 from a member on the west coast. I was initially targeting one for sale in Oregon that had already had a 6-speed conversion, but just missed it. I think that car unfortunately caught fire on the way to its new home. Mine was being sold up in Washington. Misano Red with 99k AMD ECU and TCU tunes. Very well documented, very clean, and previously owned by very meticulous dudes. Bone dry underneath! I was sold!

Flew out and drove her the 2800+ miles home solo, in a bit less than 3 days. Missed the chance to do 100 mph at 100k miles, but that’s ok. I have gotten her up to 160 mph with more to spare, but not enough empty highway. The smiles per gallon are real!

6-speed conversion is in her future. User 2.ohhh gave me a ride in his conversion and that has convinced me that it’s in my future.

But right now, between everything else going on, the 5AT only having 25k miles on it, and me driving her sparingly, I have quite a bit of borrowed time.

Work so far to get her passed MD inspection was an engine mount (I knew this buying it), driver’s front axle, and new OE windshield. I’ve also done an oil change, and replaced the front discs/pads.

I did pick up some goodies for the car from AZ members but have not installed yet.

Thank you to Pittdawg for reaching out and offering me his planned turbo upgrade back in October. Since California passed their law regarding ECU tuning, he became unable to use it. I intend to get it ceramic coated same as my downpipe and install it. I think it’ll be a modest bump and won’t really require a fuel pump or injector upgrade.

And from Quigs1591, a Darkside Developments intercooler back in December. In great shape and looking forward to having time (and space) to have these installed.

Now that’s out of the way. In December, I did the 75k service to the car at ~73k. Interestingly I pulled ~7 liters of oil out, despite the capacity being 6.4 L. I suspect it’s diesel dilution. Car ran smoother, obviously. Using Liqui Moly 4200.

I did not change the fuel filter immediately, but let me say when I did, holy heck did the car instantly change. Much smoother behavior, what feels like more power, and better mileage. Change your fuel filters, folks!!

On my way to hitting actual 75k miles, I was getting vibes like I did when my engine mounts needed replacement last time. Have a nice vibration both while driving and at idle, and the last time this happened, one mount had gone. I was told to check my trans mount, which was easy enough to replace, but it did not need it. I think next check will be driveshaft and rear diff mounts.

    Old (left) vs New (right)

I finally bit the bullet and bought S6 rear caliper carriers. Bought them on eBay from Latvia, and they were both brand new and the price for both was what I’d pay for one in the US. And while I was at it, I decided to change my brake pads from the lackluster ones from Brake Performance to EBC Redstuff. Got the rattle clips from RockAuto for a fraction of the price (Uro). With new wear sensors and fluid flush, I am much happier now! I will need S6 dust shields at some point.

Lastly, I helped move my brother (whose stuff is slowly filtering out of my garage), and while following him in the moving truck, the car was reporting a ridiculous 53.3 mpg (!!) from leaving his place to my house to unload the truck.

Next in the car’s future are new tires. Current ones are down to <4/32, and are getting a bit squirrely. Thinking I might get some Vredesteins.

I'm really hoping NY doesn't follow California with this. We've adopted most of their emissions regulations so far. Oddly, my car passed with the Malone stage 2, fully straightpiped. I had planned to swap everything to stock annually but went in for an inspection as a test to see what would happen. Several readiness monitors "not ready", but somehow passed.

I'm at 126k miles now and climbing!

Probably not the readiness indicators they were looking for. I recall failing MD's inspection because I could not set readiness. Once re-tuned, I passed MD's inspection with a couple "not ready" so long as the main readiness was there.

Anyway, yeah we'll see. I don't roll coal, but thankfully MD does not check on diesels.

I have been trying to find out what is actually needed. It's not listed on any of the NYS DMV pages I can see. I know gas cars well - 01+ can have one single monitor not ready (typically evap) and that's it. Nothing stated on diesels. Fortunately it's a simple plug in OBDii test and shops don't make enough off inspections to care about what hardware is under the hood :) If the computer says it's good - it's good!

    Update! New shoes!

Purchased a set of Vredestein Hypertracs in 255/35ZR20. Was debating between Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4s and Conti Extreme Contact DWS 06+s. The Vredesteins is they have a 100 day trial period and 8 year warranty vs 60 days and 6 years for the others.

My Michelin A/S 3+s were down to 3/32nds and were getting squirrely on Maryland roads. Our roads a crap anyway, as evidenced by exceptional performance in the wet on a drive back from WV with downhills/curves between 70 and 90 mph.

That said, this process has been a headache. Purchased 8/12 from Tire Rack. Shipped to Mr. Tire and arrived on 8/16. Worked night shifts, so should have been installed on 8/21. Mount, balance, and alignment did not happen. Waited 2 hours and in the process, they broke their plastic duckhead (required for low profile tires) and had no replacements. 1 tire installed. To get me out of the way, they remounted my other wheels using the metal duckhead and damaged wheels.

I was fuming. They did accept responsibility and did not charge me for the one wheel, but the attitude of “you can go pound sand” and "go to a performance shop" when I collected my tires really turned me off. I limped the car over to RAI Motorsport. They got me setup to get the wheels repaired (and looking phenomenal) and the new tires installed. Now I just need to get Mr. Tire to reimburse me for the cost of getting this done…

RAI did note that one of my wheels has a slight bend in it, so that one is on the list to get fixed too...

Initial impressions after ~100 miles. Note I haven't had a chance to drive in rain yet.

    • Great warranty! Vredestein provides a 100 day trial period to see if you like the tires. This is fantastic since I am not sold on them yet.
    • Quiet! This is to be expected with new tires vs highly worn tires, but still refreshing.
    • Smooth! Feels much smoother on the road. Similarly to be expected but also a different compound. I feel this compound may have less silica in it but I’m not sure.
    • Dry grip is fantastic! I’m able to take some really sharp curves at high speeds without any break in traction. At least as good as the Michelins here.
    • Appearance: They look great and have a wheel protection built in.

    The not-so-good:
    • Lower mpgs. So far, I’ve noticed I’ve gotten several mpg less than I would have expected based on some short drives I’ve done. Longer-term tbd.

I'll keep things updated but hoping as I drive mpg improves.

    Update!

Been a while since I had posted! My launch & commissioning campaign has really gone on for a long while (nearly 2 months longer than anticipated). And some other competing priorities. RS6 needs some work, and I picked up Green on Green 03 Allroad 6MT!
Happy to have one again, but it does needs some TLC too.

Wheels were fixed, and rest of the tires mounted and balanced. Mr. Tire covered that, of course.

I ran the Vredesteins for the full 100 day warranty. I wound up sending them back and getting Pilot Sport All Season 4s put on in November. Why? Because the mpg hit really was bugging me. Dry and wet tractions were really amazing. With the Michelins I clawed back an mpg. That's leading me to think something else may be going on. No DTCs or anything stored for that. Wondering if the cat is getting clogged...

And I hit 90k miles last week. Just in time for the large amount of maintenance to take place! FCP ftw! Not pictured are fluids (Coolant, Oil, Trans), and the 034 RSB. While I'm doing all this work, I think it may finally be time to throw that new intercooler and turbo on.

What turbo did you get? Darkside or Bobby Signh Racing?

It's neither--it's a rebuilt GTB2260. Got it from Pittdawg, who had it ported/polished in SoCal. But due to the CA legislation, he can't put it on.

Hmmm.... wonder where he got it from. I know Darkside, Bobby Signh and someone named Turboman(I think) makes upgraded turbos. The Turboman ones are smaller than the other 2.

Do you have any issues in Maryland having the EGR and DPF deleted?

I used to live out there, and thought they had some type of inspection every year.

I don't think he got it from them. I think it's a plain stock GTB2260 from an A8.

Diesels are exempt from Maryland emissions. I was real confused when I first bought it and didn't get the VEIP form. Inquired at the MVA and they were gonna figure it out until she was like "Wait, it's diesel? You don't have to do that."

Reviving an old thread, I just finished an 8 hour install of the darkside downpipe and cat delete. What an absolute nightmare it was getting the dpf out. Putting the new one back in, I realized it was missing half the hardware that I needed, and the cat delete pipe didn't even come close to fitting up with the factory "catback" section. I need about 4 more inches of pipe length, and the adapter was the right size for the darkside cat pipe, but way too large for the factory exhaust, if it even had enough length to fit. Right now I have the straight pipe with it dumping just past the transmission. I decided to have it tuned via darkside instead of Malone because I liked the idea of having a custom setup tune specific to my car. Right now, there is absolutely zero power over stock and it blows quite a bit of smoke. I'll be sending them more logs and seeing if they can improve on it and I'll update if anything changes.

Wow... I strayed for a bit and missed a lot of posts... Did I ever shared with the pics of the S6 calipers installed on mine?
