    22" wheels with 285/35/22 Tires

    Hello All!

I must have read through the wheel and tire thread a thousand times, and can not figure out if anyone has yet to successfully run the larger ( taller and wider) than OEM setup.

Im looking to run a 22" wheel ( Most likely the Rohana RFX11 22x10.5 ET35) with the Conti DWS06 285/35/22 tires. Im figuring it'll stuff a little more tire to clear some of the gap ( I have the air suspension anyway) and close comps to the typically run 21" wheel and 295/35/21 Conti DWS tires.

The Numbers result to a .4" smaller width over the 21" setup above, with a .8" taller height. The main thing for me, is having some meat on the sidewalls ( as I chase a snowstorm every now and then) so its a 3.9" sidewall (on the 22s) vs the 21s with a 4.1"--so just about the same.

Anyone have any luck on either their Q5 or SQ5?

A 285/35 will not fit unfortunately. You can’t exceed 29.3” diameter due to the upper control arm clearance.

Your best options for 22’s will be 265/35, or 295/30.
The 265 will give you the most sidewall that really possible if that’s what you are looking for.

Look at running 285/30/22.... that should work. Or 295/30.
