I realize those have GPF's, but man it sounds weaksauce. It doesn't seem to have the flares we thought it might either. I guess the diff updates remain to be seen and will probably have another 20 ponies or so. I wouldn't expect this car until fall 2021 in North America as a 2022 model, at earliest.

I wonder if there will be a performance version with ~450hp as rumored.

What they need to do is to add a small 48volts electric motor to get the car going on kick downs and from a dead stop, sort of like what Merceds is using on the E53. I was also expecting some flare fenders. My white car looks like a hertz rental car when I am blending in traffic or when is parked in a parking lot.

Lastly, they need to work on the catalytic converter filter, I never seen an Audi RS3 so misrepresented and so overrated than the videos of Carwow where either the TT-RS or the RS3 do so poorly on their hand held stopwatch 1/4 mile races. These guys from carwow don't do any justice for our RS3/TTRS community on this side of the Atlantic.

Seems like from what I’ve read that exhaust has to be tamer across the board for emissions and our precious little hearing..... kinda sucks

Downpipe + tune = sound sorted

Now we just need tuners to get serious and start developing maps for dwna engine which a lot of markets already have in their rs3

With all the extra emissions equipment it barely sounds like a RS3

I don't know what carwow are doing with their 5 cylinder Audis, but they are performing soo bad compared to what they do in the real world. (And no, a place where a 370 hp or so RWD Toyota Supra (12.0 s 1/4 mile) easily beats a 400 hp RS3 (12.2-12.7 s 1/4 mile) with similar weight is Not the real world.)

Huge shame if the RS3 is losing some character with the newer models. Seems to happen with a lot of car models of late. Love my 2018. Barely 10K miles. Don't plan on getting another car for 6 or 7 years minimum. Who knows what the performance sedan landscape will look like at that time. Read an interesting article in Road and Track about the new Supra. Looks nice but wasn't what was expected. But there are hardly any cars to compete in that market now. Our beloved performance sedans and coupes are fading away unfortunately. I may be looking for hybrid or battery powered UTEs when I car shop next. Scary thought!! But going to enjoy the hell out of my RS3 until that time. Hatch in the US would be nice however.

It would be nice to see flared fenders but it would cost them more

Is Audi doing anything to compete with rivals or just massaging sheet metal here? Merecedes smaller 4 cylinder now has a rating on paper above the 5 cylinder.

Which is why I would bet my house the new RS3 will have more power than that car (at least on paper) as well as a "drift" mode with the new diff.

Same boat as you. 900 miles on mine and plan on putting at least 90k on it.

Expect ~15-20 hp more. I’ve read the rumors about a “drift” mode and new gen Haldex. That would require the new Haldex to put down a lot more than 50% to the rear. I’m more interested in knowing whether there will be a performance version with more power than a minor bump in hp.
